LAFAYETTE CENTRAL CATHOLIC
The Knights, after having their 2020 run cut short before it started, have seen a ton of success the last two high school seasons, and also through the Boiler Juniors club. And although Kassidy Boener (2nd leading attacker) has graduated, there’s still a ton of young and athletic talent in the defending 1A champs’ gym. Grace Roach Grace Roach 6'0" | MB Lafayette Central Catholic | 2023 State IN (’23, 6-0 MB) is the physical and emotional leader of this bunch, returning as the leading attacker and blocker. Kaitlyn Kuckkan Kaitlyn Kuckkan 5'7" | S Lafayette Central Catholic | 2025 State IN (’25, 5-7 S) will run the offense to perfection. Rachel Vorst Rachel Vorst 5'6" | DS/L Lafayette Central Catholic | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-6 DS/L) is the libero coaches covet for a first-ball contact point. Nearly every major piece returns, making class 2A that much more tough to get through.
ANDREAN
The Fighting 59ers might have something to say to the Knights, as both will be in the northern half of the draw. Only one of these teams will make it to Worthen in the fall, and the 2A defending champs have plenty returning to compensate for what walks out the door. Neither Angelina Majchrowicz (six rotation outside) nor Madi Kmetz (5-9 S, over 2000 assists) can be replaced easily, but they’re definitely going to try. Marin Sanchez Marin Sanchez 5'10" | OH Andrean | 2024 State IN (’24, six rotation OH) brings her all-world level of play back for another season, while libero Kara Schutz (’23, 5-4 DS/L) will wear the special jersey once again. So, there’s a first contact point and a terminal attacker. But who will run the offense?
