And just like that the 2022 club season has come to a close with the cumulation of the USAV Girls Junior National Championships in Indianapolis. The Circle City was chock full of the best of the best in the country and some even came to show off at our Prep Dig National showcase last Thursday.

Basking in all of this talent, we’re going to be breaking down some of the best from the showcase. Starting off with the pin attackers, there were a LOT of them.

Here are some of the best pin attackers from the 2022 USAV x Prep Dig Showcase.

Brionna Evans - 6’0 OPP - 575

What stood out to me with this athlete was not just her offense, but her defense. When watching her early on, she had me fooled for a defensive specialist. As an opposite, Evans has amazing ball control and is a big time communicator on the court.

Lainey Brauman - 5’9 OH - Circle City

It’s to no surprise that this is a product of Circle City. An undersized pin with some explosive hops is a CC special! Brauman was very dynamic and was great in adjusting on the fly and making big plays.

Emily Garten - 5’10 OH - ACT Volleyball

This player is a lot of fun to watch, her approach to the ball is very smooth and fluid to watch. Garten boasts a circular swing that loads a heavy punch.

[player_tooltip player_id="110291" first="Alana" last="Deshetsky"] - 5’7 OH - NBVBC

Now, this was a familiar face I didn’t anticipate on seeing at this event. But glad to see, Deshetsky is a big force from the Mitten State that is fresh off a double knee surgery in December. Her leap seems to full form and her pace and location with the ball hasn’t missed a step.

Isabella Blackwell - 5’9 OH - Aspire

I love these events, because you’re introduced to a lot of fun and dynamic plays, i.e. Blackwell. This player uses a big load up for a massive explosion in her jump and swing. Her read on the various of sets along the net was impressive, making the best of plays.

[player_tooltip player_id="171379" first="Jayla" last="Miller"] - 5’8 OH - Academy VBC

A little smaller upon first glance, but the way this player can elevate was amazing. Not only the height she can reach, but with such little effort in doing so was amazing. For her size, Miller boasts a lot of physicality and some promising ball control.

Madyn Cervellera - 6’0 OH - Seattle Juniors

One of the lengthier pins here, Cervellera has a nice high contact on the ball with some great wrist control. This showed in some great ball placement around the court and was delivered with quite some velocity.

Karrington Crawford - 5’8 OH/MB - Top Gun

This player was another one of those "undersized, but deadly" players. Crawford has a great vertical with a nice high reach and a heavy arm. But she not only can bring the heat, but she has some high level ball control too.

Ella Ward - 5’11 OH - 501 Volley

Another fun, athletic player to watch this a big, circular swing. Ward loves hitting the ball to the deep corners with a lot of velocity and showed pretty difficult to slow down.

NiMya Maruska - 5’8 OH - Houston Skyline

i love a player that can show off some elite skills in more than just their offense. Maruska is a player that can bring the boom to the room with her swing, but kick starts herself with great ball control. She is seemingly very comfortable taking the first and third contact and delivering in both fronts.
