The Circle City was chock full of the best of the best in the country and some even came to show off at our Prep Dig National showcase last Thursday.
Basking in all of this talent, we’re going to be breaking down some of the best from the showcase. Starting off with the pin attackers, there were a LOT of them.
Here are some of the best pin attackers from the 2022 USAV x Prep Dig Showcase.
Lindsey Mangelson Lindsey Mangelson 6'2" | OH Hamilton Southeastern | 2025 State IN – 6’2 OH – Munciana Indy
This attacker showed a lot of signs of high termination. Mangelson stands tall at 6’2 and explodes with a big jump for a high contact. She has a healthy arm swing that bring the boom and detonate any defender.
Audryana Colon – 6’0 OH – FC Elite
I loved watching this player show off her attacking chops at the showcase. Colon can be a huge threat on either pin. She utilizes a really big and explosive approach with her body to elevate off the ground and bring the heat.
Kaylyn Christy Kaylyn Christy 5'10" | RS Hamilton Southeastern | 2025 State IN – 5’10 OH – Munciana
Another product out of the Munciana machine that can put a dent in the floor. Christy made a great impression with serious elevation and a lot of strength in her swings.
Ava Grevengoed Ava Grevengoed 5'11" | OH Joliet West | 2024 State IL – 5’11 OH – Michio
I love seeing athletes that can handle a heavy load of contact during the game and that’s exactly what Grevengoed seems best at. She can handle being attacked at in the reception line and quick out to bring down a thunderous ball.
Ruby Flath – 6’3 OH – Academy NorCal
Flath is a big kid. Her size alone could be quite intimidating and then she starts jumping and swinging. DANG. It doesn’t take much for her to get off the ground and her ball on the pin is deadly if you’re in the way.
Cailyn Smiley – 5’8 OH – Sports Perfromance
Slightly undersized, but Smiley may be getting a bill for a ball or two she had obliterated. Needless to say with her height, she jumps very well.
Alailah Perry – 5’11 OH – Powerplex
I loved watching Perry for several reasons. She’s already so physical in her offense, bringing a lot of pace to her ball, and she’s always the first one to step up to demo. More impressively, Perry shows a lot of upside in her ball control to be one of the top all-around pins in her class.
Desiree Beverley – 5’9 OH – United
This player was a baller on the sport court, but I would LOVE to see Beverley hit the sand courts too. Beverley has a phenomenal all around game with high level ball control and great shots up her sleeve on offense.
Abby Peduzzi – 5’10 OH – LowCountry VBC
I saw a lot of balls set Peduzzi’s way that weren’t totally ideal, but I loved the way she was able to adjust to the variety of sets and make something great. Always aggressive with the shots and a high ceiling with her ball control too.
Mary Jane McCurdy – 5’11 OH – Frisco Flyers
With just the showcase for evaluation, I can tell this player has a very high IQ and read for the game. McCurdy has a nice smooth approach that allows her to see a lot of the court and block very well. McCurdy has great wrist control that allows her t cut some tough shots.
