Lauren Harden Lauren Harden 6'3" | OH Hamilton Southeastern | 2024 State #36 Nation IN , 6-3 OH, Hamilton Southeastern
Lauren is a big, strong and physical outside that is crafting her all-around game and seems to get better every time I see her. Of the kids on this list, Miss Harden is one of two on this list getting ball touches with the National Developmental Program, and spent a little time with them recently learning better and more efficient techniques. This is a kid that clearly wants to get better and is a gym rat for the process.
Morgan Gaerte Morgan Gaerte 6'4" | OH Angola | 2024 State #26 Nation IN , 6-4 OH, Angola
From the Fort Wayne area, Morgan is another big and physical outside that has a more refined passing game, making her a prime recruit to be a six-rotation passer. She reminds me a lot of Caitie Baird, another Indiana product trying to lead Stanford on their left pin. She has all the tools, shots and determination to make that leap to the next level.
Ava Utterback Ava Utterback 5'10" | OH Plainfield | 2024 State #24 Nation IN , 5-10 OH, Plainfield
The third of three ten-foot-plus jumpers, Ava is probably the most explosive of the bunch. Although a few inches shorter than the previous two mentioned, her athleticism makes up for it in a hurry. Her competitive fire, constant training at the highest level year-round and always being on a winning program adds her to the drove of pins in this class.
Alexis Maesch Alexis Maesch 5'10" | RS Avon | 2024 State IN , 5-10 RS, Avon
Cut from the same cloth as Ava above, Miss Maesch is the mirror image of Ava. This lefty hammer can do a bunch of things for her squad, both in the front and back rows. Club teammates with Ava as well, her Circle City training has also put her in high-pressure matches regularly, and if she’s not jumping at ten feet now, she should be shortly. Alexis is also a member of the National Developmental Program, and has improved in a hurry because of that training.
Sophia Mayo Sophia Mayo 6'2" | OH Perry Meridian | 2024 State IN , 6-2 OH, Perry Meridian
Sophia is a big and physical outside that hits a heavy ball and is an intimidating presence at the net. When prompted, Miss Mayo can become a six-rotation passer at the next level—it’s just a matter of getting the training touches to do so. Of the kids on this particular list, Sophia is probably on the least-volleyball-experienced roster. This makes her a workhorse that’s used to the training and playing load required to carry her Falcons.
