Lauren Evans Lauren Evans 6'0" | OH Carmel | 2024 State #136 Nation IN , 6-0 OH, Carmel, Michigan commit
Lauren is a high-flying, primary-passing, six-rotation outside that will be leaned on heavily by her fellow Greyhounds to compete in the proverbial “sectional of death”. Her athleticism, speed and Munciana training got her here, and her perseverance paid off. Let’s hope, for her sake, there are others at Carmel that can help.
Makenzie Wagner Makenzie Wagner 5'10" | RS Providence | 2024 State IN , 5-10 RS/S, Providence
This lefty hammer just came off of a championship-winning performance at GJNCs last month. She is just as adept at putting balls away as she is running an offense. Her hard work has definitely paid off, and her mantle is just a little more cluttered because of it. With the focus back on the high school scene, Miss Wagner and her fellow Pioneers should dominate in 3A. I look forward to seeing them at Ball State in November.
Delaney Lawson Delaney Lawson 6'2" | OH Bellmont | 2024 State IN , 6-1 OH, Bellmont
Speaking of 3A dominance, the Braves have themselves a gem in Delaney. Big, strong and fast, Delaney has the potential to be a full-time six-rotation outside. For now, she’s already earned over 500 kills on varsity and has two full seasons remaining. I’m sure their loss in the state final last year still stings, so look for Miss Lawson and the rest of the Braves compete to be in Worthen Arena in November.
Aly Kirkhoff Aly Kirkhoff 5'6" | DS/L Roncalli | 2024 State IN , 5-6 DS/L, Roncalli, LSU commit
Is it possible to go an entire year without having a brilliant DS at Roncalli? No, no it’s not. Aly has finally emerged from Emma Halter’s shadow, and can keep the libero jersey all to herself for the next two seasons. Her first-contact instincts serve her well, and the Royals will be leaning on her expertise to try and make it to Worthen in the ultra-competitive 4A class.
Allie Shondell Allie Shondell 5'9" | S McCutcheon | 2024 State #78 Nation IN , 5-10 S, McCutcheon
State championship winner, AAU national title winner, AAU All-American. The setter at the center of all of those conversations is none other than Allie. A few years ago, I didn’t think she’d have the skill, smarts or upper body strength to be able to carry such a load. Never have I been more happy to be wrong. Miss Shondell locates with the best, always knows whom to set in whatever situation, and is a full-on gym rat. Now, to repeat as state champion…..
