Class 2 Preseason Rankings 6-10

Class 2 has been dominated by Hermann Bearcats for years with 15 titles, and this year should be no different for Hermann. They will again be a contender, but several other teams will be looking to unseat the Bearcats. Jefferson has the makings of a state title team with a fantastic group of 2023 players returning. Look at 6-10, with the 1-5 coming out shortly.   6. Lawson Cardinals 28-6-2   Returning All-State outside hitter and four others that saw considerable playing time, the Cardinals primed for another 20-win season and a return to the state playoffs. A showdown with Bishop Leblond on 10/10 will be a rematch of last year's playoff loss to the Eagles. Conway Bears 27-8-2   A trio of hitters returns for the Bears this year, and both setters in the 6-2 offense. The Bears lost to Hermann 0-3 in the playoffs and are poised to make another run this year. Skyline Tigers 21-10-4   Skyline made history last year by reaching the final four and finished 4th. Return four starters from last year and have a strong chance to repeat last year's feat. East Buchanan Bulldogs 21-10-2   A 0-3 sweep to the hands of the Eagles from Bishop LeBlond in the first round of state playoffs ended the season last year. This year could be East Buchanan's year for redemption with what they have returning. The Bulldogs lost one starter from last season, this year has more promise. A date with LeBlond on 9/26 highlights the schedule. Bishop LeBlond Eagles 27-10-1   The Eagles made it to the state title match last year and lost to Hermann in 3. They lost two starters from last season and returned enough to contend for the final four. A 9/22 game with St. Pius X (KC) should give us an idea of how good the Eagles will be.
