High School Team Feature: George Ranch Longhorns

Our focus this time is on the George Ranch Longhorns.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"large"} --> <p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>The Squad</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Longhorns look very different from last season, when they made it to the playoffs, following the graduations of right sides Logan Lednicky and Allie Sczech and outside hitter Avery Shimaitis and Dylan Hoskins, who were the team's four main scorers in their last campaign. In the 5'7” libero, her teammates know they have a solid presence on the backcourt and a player that offer great security to the team. Steubing is excellent at reading the game and is often one step ahead of everyone else, generating easy digs and transition opportunities for her team. The 5'2” defensive specialist is very agile and covers a lot of ground on the backcourt. Forshee typically replaces one of the team's outside hitters and significantly strengthens the team's defensive system besides splitting the court in two with Steubing for serve-receive.
