(*pictured) who has significantly increased her offensive output from a season ago as she is averaging 5.5 kills per set. She has been an offensive force for this program throughout her prep career and currently is playing her best volleyball. Standing at 6’0, she sees a lot of opportunities and uses her length well to terminate efficiently at .458. Fellow junior Calli Anderson is her offensive counterpart at 2.6 kills per set. Andrea Reeves, also a junior, is the setter and is distributing at just over 10 assists per set. The Red Knights next take on Steubenville (2-2).
Temple Christian Pioneers
Led by the 2021 NWCC Player of the Year in CeCe Worsham, the pioneers are off to a 6-0 start following a recent narrow victory over Allen East (3-2), a match that saw Worsham terminate 19 kills to lead her team. She currently averages a team high 4.5 kills per set with 86 total kills. Four teammates are contributing in a balanced fashion offensively as they each have between 23 and 31 total kills thus far. The setting role is shared between seniors Kaylee Linhart and Emily Bontrager as both are averaging four assists per set. On the defensive side, Worsham averages over 10 digs per match, further showcasing why she is among the best prospects in the NWCC. Next up for Temple Christian is Ridgemont on Thursday.
Unioto Shermans
Junior Jade Stewart leads this team on the offensive side as she is terminating 3.2 kills per set. The 5’9 sophomore is establishing herself as a key factor and gets good support from teammate and junior outside hitter Ella Cutright. Cutright averages 2.5 kills per set and is on pace to outperform her offensive numbers last season when she totaled 166 kills on the season. She also picks up 6.8 digs per match and leads the Shermans with 17 service aces on the young season. A pair of juniors share the setting role as Abbie Marshall leads with 5.1 assists per set while teammate Madelyn Wetzel contributes 4.3. They next face Westfall (1-3) on Thursday.
