Leah West Leah West 6'1" | S Greensburg | 2025 State IN , 6-1 RS/S, Greensburg
Although I’ve personally seen Leah set for three rotations and attack for three rotations, it looks like the Pirates need her more in the attack department this season. Seems to be working thus far, as Greensburg have started their season 7-0, while only dropping one set in the process. Miss West is a big and physical attacker who can set in a pinch, and presents a ton of problems to opposing attackers with her defense at the net. It’ll be fun watching her develop, as her basketball background makes her an outstanding addition to any collegiate roster.
Cathryn Erwin Cathryn Erwin 5'3" | DS/L Lutheran | 2025 State IN , 5-1 DS/L, Lutheran
Indianapolis Lutheran always plays one of the toughest schedules in the state to prep for a long run in the postseason. Since sectionals are “blind draws”, you can play tougher than average schedules and still have massive success in October. In order for the Saints to do just that, they need to rely on their first contact, where the conversation starts and ends with Miss Erwin. She will stand in and take the heavy hitting from bigger opponents and readily takes the first ball on serve receive. Add in that she’s a great kid who’s entirely coachable, and you have a recipe for success for a few years to come. The ‘bro jersey is hers for three years, and there’s no argument.
Kate Pinnick Kate Pinnick 5'7" | DS/L Franklin Community | 2025 State IN , 5-7 DS/L, Franklin Community
Another starting ‘bro in the class of ’25 on this list, Kate is a left-back genius that does more for her squad than most liberi do in 4A. She can pass half the court if needed, and with the arrival of new coach Pat Carlson, will finally have the direction a solid passer and defender needs at this level. After frustrating Mya Ayro Mya Ayro 6'0" | OH Greenwood | 2023 State #189 Nation IN (’23, UConn commit) last week, the sky’s the limit for this young lady.
Kyra Destrampe Kyra Destrampe 5'9" | MB Franklin Community | 2025 State IN , 5-9 MB, Franklin Community
I’m kind of cheating here because I listed more than one player from the same school, but in this early season, it was hard to find someone that performed better than Kyra. A fast and physical middle, she makes the big and lumbering middles look slow, while being a faster version of the smaller middles that dot multiple rosters in Indiana. From a projection standpoint, Miss Destrampe probably fits as a right side for a smaller school. But for now, she’s hammering away from the middle, mostly because she can.
Paryss Betts Paryss Betts 5'7" | OH Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran | 2025 State IN , 5-7 OH, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran
With the potential to be a primary passing outside for a smaller school, Paryss has a strong shoulder that can hit any shot with pace. She’s also fearless, which is hard to teach at this age level. She does all things in this game of ours at 100%, and is a captain for her squad as well. I like the fact that she has talent in so many skills, since she may be recruited in multiple positions as she matures.
