Continue ReadingNow that the high school season is well underway, we are starting our series of articles on those teams who have been lighting up the stat sheets and scoreboards. We will be highlighting a few teams that have a chance to do something very special this year if it all works out. Today we bring our attention to Prosper High School out of District 5-6A.
The Eagles are coming off of a season in which ended a bit earlier than they wanted it to. They went 29-13 overall last year and finished in 4th place in their district by going 7-5. These youngsters were ousted in the 3rd round of the playoffs last season and are hungry to go further this season. They are returning some significant firepower from last year’s team and are primed for a long run in 6A. That experience should be something that propels them to the forefront of the 6A race this season. We have written about some of these players before and here is a little from our recent articles about them if you need to remember who they are:
Ayden Ames Ayden Ames 6'4" | MB Prosper | 2024 State #3 Nation TX [2024] 6-3 Middle/Outside (HS: Prosper/Club: Texas Advantage /Verbal: Nebraska)
Ayden is currently ranked as the 4th best overall prospect and also the best middle in the 2024 class in the entire state of Texas. She is also listed as the 7th best overall prospect in the nation according to our national rankings. She plays at Prosper High School and also the famed Texas Advantage Volleyball club program. I have covered this young lady a few times and she continues to amaze me when I see her learning something new. The Nebraska commit is able to play any position along the net at a very high level. I think her back row play is also getting better with each rep. She is the star amongst stars on this squad and as long as she is on the floor, they will have a chance to go very far. She has the ability to take over a match on the offensive end for sure and be very difficult to slow down. She is also a double double waiting to happen with her ability to block any position at a very high level.
Callie Kieffer Callie Kieffer 5'10" | S Prosper | 2023 State #199 Nation TX [2023] 5-10 Setter (HS: Prosper/Club: Drive Nation/Verbal: University of Alabama)
Callie has made a huge splash in the 2023 Prep Dig State Rankings. She has moved up and we now have her listed as the 24th best prospect in the state. Callie runs the show in a six-two offense for Drive and also dishes the rock for Prosper High School. Don’t sleep on this kid, as her athleticism is sneaky good. It doesn’t matter whether the pass is in or out of system, as she will deliver the ball in pinpoint accurate fashion. She is currently on pace to have a fantastic senior season. Callie is the real deal and can dish the ball with the best of them in the state. Her hands are super soft and she is a sniper with the ball to every location. With a setter like this, Prosper has a chance to really go far. The Alabama commit is hungry to end her junior volleyball career on a high note so grab your popcorn and watch her lead this squad to the promised land.
Ella Chaney Ella Chaney 6'2" | MB Prosper | 2023 State TX [2023] 6-2 Middle (HS: Prosper/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Ella is currently ranked as the 42nd best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays at Prosper High School and club for the amazing Dallas Skyline program. The lady Eagles will have a good defensive stopper at the net in Ella for the times when they go up against another solid offense. She has proven to be super effective on both the offensive and defensive end over the last few years. Her consistency at the net will be key for this hungry team. Her size and power will be additional weapons to use when they are needed.
Hannah Beauford Hannah Beauford 5'11" | S Prosper | 2025 State #99 Nation TX [2025] 5-11 Setter (HS: Prosper/Club: Drive Nation/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Hannah is currently ranked as the 21st best overall prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays at the juggernaut Prosper high school and also for the Drive Nation volleyball club. I have watched this young lady burst onto the scene and now as a sophomore she is ready to prove that she belongs with the best. She is coming off of a fantastic club season in which she was awarded All Tournament at USA Nationals in Indy. Her focus is now helping Prosper get back to glory and she will do it by any means necessary. She is able to help them by stepping up as a setter if they need it or as a scoring threat on the right side. She has power and finesse in her game to put pressure on the opposition from the opposite position. Miss Beauford will be sure to use her experience playing at the Open level for Prosper this season.
Reese Renfrow Reese Renfrow 5'8" | OH Prosper | 2024 State TX [2024] 5-8 Outside (HS: Prosper/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Reese is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but we have watched her play this past club season at Frisco Flyers. She plays at the juggernaut Prosper high school and will play this coming season for Dallas Skyline volleyball club. While she is a little smaller than most on the pins, this kid can absolutely fly. She also has so much power in her upper body that she unleashes at will against opponents. This dual sport athlete also stars on the softball field for Prosper. Every team needs a player who can bring the heat and Miss Renfrow certainly can do that with her right arm. She is a very good complimentary scoring threat to their already potent offense. I think she will be a perfect six-rotation player that can also add a lot to their ball control in both defense and serve receive.
Sophie Bridges Sophie Bridges 5'8" | DS/L Prosper | 2025 State TX [2025] 5-8 Libero (HS: Prosper/Club: Texas Advantage /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Sophie is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but we have watched her play this past club season at Frisco Flyers. She plays at Prosper High School and plays for Texas Advantage Volleyball club. This youngster has proven to be a great contributor in the back row so far this season as she just recently made the All-Tourney team at the last tournament. Miss Bridges is no longer flying under the radar to us. We think she can be a real game changer for this squad to go far in the playoffs. We will be keeping our eye on her closely.
We like them because they have some unfinished business from last year’s exit. They have some super strong firepower with their powerful and lengthy lineup across the net and if their ball control holds up no one should slow them down. The Eagles definitely have a chance to run the table and we only have a few teams on our watch list that could give them a challenge. We will be watching very closely and we can’t wait to see the show.
