Week 4 Match-ups to Watch

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rankings are out, most every team has competed in a tournament thus far and stars are shining on the court! Week 4 is here already and we are gaining in on the halfway point of the season, which seems to be flying by. This week is packed full of huge matchups, I could write multiple articles about just this week alone but sadly this will be the only one. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>9/1 Bishop McGuinness @ Mt. St Mary</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It doesn't get much better than this. #2 trying to knock off #1 at their place. If I didn't have a game myself, I wouldn't be missing this matchup. This has to be circled on both teams calendars. Bishop McGuinness currently sits at 14-1 on the season. Their only loss came at the hands of 4A OCS, who is playing out of their minds this season. BM had already beat this team twice in the first two weeks but OCS got round 3. [player_tooltip player_id='145990' first='Grace' last='Smallwood'] and crew will come out swinging this Thursday both literally and figuratively. They will have to battle tough competition all night long. Tack on MSM student section who usually turns out very well and does a great job. MSM will have [player_tooltip player_id='212407' first='Livia' last='Ward'] dishing the rock to her hitters and serving up bullets from the end line. There are too many interesting player matchup to list but ill list some top players for you to keep an eye on in this match. [player_tooltip player_id='177222' first='Ally' last='Fees'], [player_tooltip player_id='145991' first='Jane' last='Ertl'], [player_tooltip player_id='177235' first='Avery' last='Moses'], [player_tooltip player_id='156854' first='Clare' last='Kierl'], [player_tooltip player_id='206957' first='MacKenzi' last='Bass'], [player_tooltip player_id='212420' first='Greer' last='DeLeon'], and [player_tooltip player_id='176375' first='Rachel' last='Tate']. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>8/30 Community Christian @ Bethany</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is a battle in 4A that will have implications for rankings. Both teams are ranked in the top 8 of class 4A and are slated to host a regional. Bethany is holding on for dear life at #8, which is the last spot for hosting. Community Christian is a little undervalued in the rankings in my opinion. The combo of [player_tooltip player_id='156859' first='Landry' last='Braziel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='156864' first='Victoria' last='Gray'] is just unmatched in class 4A and hard to find in any class. Their only loss thus far is a 5 set thriller to a top 5 6A school in the Norman Invitational championship. I'm looking to see if Bethany can scrap out a solid win and help solidify their hosting ability, while I look for Community to try and win convincingly to prove they should move up to #1 or 2 in the state. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>8/30 Rejoice Christian @ Lincoln Christian </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here will be a solid smaller school match up. Lincoln is class 4A and Rejoice is class 3A. Rejoice sits at 15-4 and is ranked #2 in class 3A. Lincoln is currently 10-6 and ranked #6 in a really tough 4A class. Both teams are looking to add a quality win to their resume and continue to move up the charts. Look for the huge matchup between OH Izzy Wilson for Rejoice and OH Paiton Tuggle for Lincoln. Both players has tons of power in their swing and they love to swing often. [player_tooltip player_id='212431' first='Maddy' last='James'] has been a huge play maker in the back row for Rejoice. Look for her to continue being a workhorse in Sr and cover a lot of ground. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Week 3 is officially in the books.
