We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be added to our prestigious State Rankings through their play on the court. Please welcome them with open arms.
Cayla Payne Cayla Payne 6'3" | MB Carlsbad | 2023 State #131 Nation CA [2023] 6-3 Middle (HS: Carlsbad/Club: Wave/Verbal: Colorado)
We are happy to announce that Cayla has made the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 10th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Carlsbad High School and also club for the awesome Wave volleyball program. Her senior season has been riddled with sets coming her way. She has responded in a big way and already has more kills than any other year and it is only midway through the year. She has already tallied 160 kills on an amazing .427 hitting percentage. She has been so efficient on offense and we think she can keep this going for the rest of the year with what we see. She is also on pace to dwarf her block total for each season as she already has 75 blocks. Her right arm is golden and that is what called Colorado to offer a spot on their roster for her. The future Buff will be a star at the next level. Please help us congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of being named one of the state’s best volleyball players.
Clara Stowell Clara Stowell 6'2" | S Esperanza | 2023 State #70 Nation CA [2023] 6-2 Setter (HS: Esperanza/Club: Tstreet/Verbal: Stanford)
We are happy to announce that Clara is officially a state ranked player. She is currently ranked as the 11th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Esperanza High School and also club for the amazing Tstreet volleyball program. She is one of the best dual sport volleyball athletes in the nation in my opinion. Her abilities in the sand and on the indoor court are vast and it is why Stanford chose to offer her a spot in their program. She is highly touted as both an offensive player and a setter for indoor volleyball. She can bang, block, and dish all over the court. There is no questioning her ball control ability came from her time on the beach as it truly allowed her to handle the ball in a variety of ways. Please help us congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of being named one of the state’s best volleyball players.
Sydney Bold Sydney Bold 5'7" | DS/L Bishops | 2023 State #166 Nation CA [2023] 5-7 Libero (HS: Bishops/Club: Coast/Verbal: Uncommitted)
We are happy to announce that Sydney has made the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 12th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Bishops High School and also club for the amazing Coast volleyball program. Her ball control in the back row is superb as she is able to use her strong platform and create amazing angles out of serve receive. She keeps her team in system with every ball that touches her arms. I love how easy she makes it look with such a natural soft touch on the ball. Defensively she is strong with solid footwork and always puts herself in a position to dig hard driven balls. Please help us congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of being named one of the state’s best volleyball players.
