We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be added to our prestigious State Rankings through their play on the court. Please welcome them with open arms.
Sophia Stalcup Sophia Stalcup 6'2" | MB Santa Margarita | 2023 State #167 Nation CA [2023] 6-2 Middle (HS: Santa Margarita/Club: Tstreet/Verbal: West Point)
We are happy to announce that Sophia has made the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 13th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Santa Margarita High School and also club for the awesome Tstreet volleyball program. Tstreet runs her on a higher tempo middle set but she absolutely destroys it. She gets on top of the ball and throttles it around the block. I love how high her contact point is. It makes it very difficult for an opposing blocker to stop. She has tons of power that will translate to the next level for sure. The West Point commit will make an immediate impact the moment she steps on campus. She is a wonderful blocker who has a very long wingspan and that will translate very well on the defensive end for Army. Please help us congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of being named one of the state’s best volleyball players.
Torrey Stafford Torrey Stafford 6'0" | OH Marymount | 2023 State #20 Nation CA [2023] 6-0 Outside (HS: Marymount/Club: Sunshine/Verbal: University of Pittsburgh)
We are happy to announce that Torrey is officially a state ranked player. She is currently ranked as the 14th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Marymount High School and also club for the nationally recognized Sunshine volleyball program. Miss Stafford is a super dynamic pin attacker that can score from any location on the volleyball court. When your team runs set plays for you out of the back row during tough matches, you know that you are super talented. I was in awe of watching her athleticism in person at USA Nationals in Indianapolis this summer against some open level competition. She proved to me that she is one of the best players in the state and nation. I also loved how great of a defender she is out of the middle back position. She has a natural touch on hard driven balls. She has committed to play volleyball at the University of Pittsburgh. Please help us congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of being named one of the state’s best volleyball players.
Koko Kirsch Koko Kirsch 5'8" | DS/L El Toro | 2023 State #168 Nation CA [2023] 5-8 Libero (HS: El Toro/Club: Tstreet/Verbal: Stanford)
We are happy to announce that Koko has made the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 15th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at El Toro High School and also club for the amazing Tstreet volleyball program. Koko is also a very accomplished beach volleyball player as well. Two things stand out to me for her indoor play. One is how she is able to create some amazing angles with her platform no matter where the ball is in relation to her body. This translates to some amazing “three” passes to her setter, in which she doesn’t have to move in order to set. The second aspect that stands out is her foot speed. She is super quick to track any ball down and that is what keeps her so dangerous in the back row. Her level of play is so elite that she has committed to play at a prestigious college volleyball program…Stanford. Talent recognizes talent and she is definitely talented in the back row. Please help us congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of being named one of the state’s best volleyball players.
