We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be added to our prestigious State Rankings through their play on the court. Please welcome them with open arms.
Amanda Saeger Amanda Saeger 5'11" | S Cathedral Catholic | 2024 State #125 Nation CA [2024] 5-11 Setter (HS: Cathedral Catholic/Club: Wave/Verbal: Depaul)
Amanda is currently ranked as the 10th best overall prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Cathedral Catholic High School and for the amazing Wave volleyball club program. This young lady can absolutely ball. When she takes the reigns of an offense, every hitter knows that she will be able to set them from any location because of the power that she possesses in her upper body and release. The push from sideline to sideline in out of system plays looks effortless as the ball comes out of her hands so fast to the pins. My favorite is when she tracks a ball to the left side of the court and then pushes the ball behind her, while still on the run, to the pins. It catches the defense off-balance so well as her hitter will then have a one on one or even no block in front of them. She is a true joy to watch and we are happy to have her in our system while we follow her volleyball journey. Please help us congratulate her on being named the best players in the State of California.
Taylor Yu Taylor Yu 6'0" | S Temple City | 2024 State #15 Nation CA [2024] 6-0 Setter (HS: Temple City/Club: SG Elite/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Taylor is currently ranked as the 21st best overall prospect according to our National Prep Dig Rankings and also ranked as the 11th best overall prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Temple City High School and for the awesome SG Elite club program. Miss Yu is as physically gifted as they come in junior volleyball. Her physicality extends beyond the setting position as she can attack with the elite level opposites if needed. But her bread and butter is how she glides around the court like a ghost and moves the ball around to all of her attackers. She is a true setter who can change the dynamic of any team that she is on just by her presence. She is able to play in the front row and set a 5-1 offense because of her size, strength and athleticism as an elite blocker. She is one of the best setters in the state of Cali due to her versatility. Please congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of being named one of the best volleyball players in the state of California in the 2024 class.
Haylee LaFontaine Haylee LaFontaine 6'0" | OH Huntington Beach | 2024 State #174 Nation CA [2024] 6-0 Outside (HS: Huntington Beach/Club: Seal Beach/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Haylee is currently ranked as the 12th best overall prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Huntington Beach High School and for the Seal Beach Volleyball club program. She stars in the indoor scene and also the beach scene. The ball is not safe anywhere around her because of how violently she strikes it with her hand contact. She is a very valuable point scorer from anywhere on the court. We watched her play at nationals and she was a legit threat to score every time she touched the ball. I also loved how good her court vision was when she was in mid-air as she was able to see the holes in the defense and exploit them at will. She is a true six rotation outside hitter who can help a team with her ball control in the back row also. We are proud to be able to cover her for the next two years. Please help us congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of being named one of the state’s best volleyball players.
