In region 4, Greenwood High School has been a bit quiet this year compared to normal, but they are on the rise with new coach and Northern Illinois alumni, Chandler Kinley. Building their offense and strengthening their defense, Kinley has done a great job with this young Greenwood team. Here are three stars that really contribute to their success.

Photo: Lindsey Spicer

[player_tooltip player_id='128204' first='Aubrey' last='Packer']- The obvious stud that comes to everyone's mind is [player_tooltip player_id='128204' first='Aubrey' last='Packer'], all the way around outside hitter. Let's just say if Packer is on and getting the ball, she's almost unstoppable. Packer contributes so much to the team whether it's going for the big time kill, taking care of the ball out of system, being set for a pipe, or even diming a pass in serve receive. [player_tooltip player_id='128204' first='Aubrey' last='Packer'] is just a player. Her love for the game is clear as day on the court, and she's a true leader for the team as just a junior. In 9 games that actually recorded statistics, Packer had 116 kills and had 4.30 kills a set. [player_tooltip player_id='128204' first='Aubrey' last='Packer'] is the go-to and will be till she graduates for the Lady Gators!

Photo: Lindsey Spicer

[player_tooltip player_id='170954' first='Sophia' last='Watterson']- Stepping into the varsity setting role last year, [player_tooltip player_id='170954' first='Sophia' last='Watterson'] still takes the lead for the Greenwood Lady Gators in her final year. Watterson is an athlete, and the game comes so natural to her. Sometimes the team runs a 6'2, so Watterson can hit in the front row and set in the back row. Other times, they just want Watterson to completely set a 5'1 because of her offensive power. The coach, Chandler Kinley, was a setter back in the day for D1 school, NIU, so you can tell that [player_tooltip player_id='170954' first='Sophia' last='Watterson'] is just soaking up all of the knowledge. Watterson balls out in defense and puts up a fast tempo ball to the outside. She's still undecided about playing in college, but [player_tooltip player_id='170954' first='Sophia' last='Watterson'] would be a catch for any team.

Photo: Lindsey Spicer

Halleigh House- Junior defensive specialist for Greenwood, Halleigh House has turned herself into a dominant libero for the squad. One of the aspects Greenwood struggled in most last year was simply passing, but House has created a positive culture with the first touch, and it truly shows on the court. House has become a leader defensively where she's already tallied 109 digs in the 9 statted games on the season. This libero not only pushes for every ball possible, but she stays communicating with her other teammates on the floor and has a great attitude. I had the privilege of coaching Halleigh House at WKU Elite Camp on my team, and I loved every minute coaching her. She is so receptive to feedback and only wants to get better!

Building their offense and strengthening their defense, Kinley has done a great job with this young Greenwood team. Here are three stars that really contribute to their success.
