Etiwanda high school is located in the city of Rancho Cucamonga and they play in the Baseline league. Coached by Savannah Flores, their team consists of fifteen players. Their overall record as of now is 10-2 and league play is 1-1. Etiwanda is ranked #64 in California and #16 in California Division 2 per MaxPreps.
As with all teams, the contribution from each player is what creates their success. In volleyball, one player cannot do it alone. Hence the saying, “teamwork makes the dream work”. Prep Dig likes to showcase all players on all levels. Those who are known and unknown. We attempt to recognize as many players as possible. It starts with one player at a time. Here are a few players from Etiwanda’s Varsity volleyball team being showcased.
Alina Parrales
Alina Parrales
Alina Parrales is a hustler on the court, digging and diving for balls to keep them in play. She knows how to cover the block and get on the floor to recover a ball. She can serve receive pass to her setter so a ball can be deliverable to the pins. Parrales has no problem diving, rolling, and getting back on her feet to finish a play. She is quick with her lateral movements and defends the back row with speed.
Emma Tippeconnic
Emma Tippeconnic
Emma Tippeconnic uses her speed to get to a short serve and can keep the ball in play. On the outside, she can get between the block and score. Her jump is high and her arm swing is fierce. Tippeconnic can hit with enough force behind the ball so it gets tooled off the block.
Zacqueline “Zacky” Coaston
Zacqueline “Zacky” Coaston
Zacqueline “Zacky” Coaston is the first line of defense at the net and gets the job done with her blocking skills. She is quick at the net and gets right on top of the ball to bang it straight down. She can adjust her blocking angles and move side to side to help her pins. Coaston has a very good presence in middle and is a player who can score.
Highlights
Brooke Hansen Brooke Hansen 6'0" | S Etiwanda | 2025 State #135 Nation CA is an all-around player on the court. If she is not setting, she is playing right side. She uses her agility and speed to get to the ball and make plays. She does not hesitate and is not afraid to get on the floor digging a ball or getting a pancake. When she wasn’t setting, she was one of the main hitters. Hansen has a quick reaction to the ball and can hit from all spots on the court. Her transition from offense to defense is effortless, showing her experience and ability. She is very vocal on the court.
Macie Powell
Macie Powell
Macie Powell can get over the block and down on the outside. One of the main forces when it comes to offense and scoring. She is a strong offensive asset for the Eagles. Powell helps at the net with blocking on defense and her powerful hit gets points on offense. She has a high volleyball IQ that shows through the way she reads the court and places her ball.
Sinaiah Pointer
Sinaiah Pointer
Sanaiah Pointer is a powerful, smart outside hitter who can hit between the seam. She can jump high enough to tip over the block or uses her force to hit through one. She has solid hands to create a defensive wall when blocking. Pointer can adjust to off sets and still deliver a kill.
Camryn Alo
Camryn Alo
Camryn Alo has a massive swing that puts speed and power behind the ball every time she hits it. Her block stats just kept accumulating in this particular game. She is a solid defender at the net and creates a wall with her high hands to close the block and make the ball drop straight down for a point. On defense, she can block at the net and on offense, she can score which makes her an intimidating force. Alo is a smart player who knows how to place a ball with a tip towards an open spot.
Keira Andrews Keira Andrews 5'7" | S Etiwanda | 2024 CA is light on her feet and smooth with her hands. She has the speed to get to an off pass and still bump set it to her pins to deliver. Andrews is a good defensive player who uses her quickness on the court to get to balls and creates hittable sets. She has the strength to push a ball out if need be or place short, quick sets to the middle. Andrews can set to any hitter.
