High School Team Feature – MacArthur Generals

Let's now take a look at the MacArthur Generals.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"large"} --> <p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>The Squad</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Generals had a strong 2021 season, with their first district title in 39 years, but have a big challenge in front of them to repeat it with the graduations of Jasmine Rutledge and Aaliyah Callaway and the transfer of Emeli Muagututi'a to Ridge Point. Also capable of playing in the middle, she's a very good offensive player and is set quite often, no matter if she's at the net or the backcourt. She has a lot of physical power, but is also quite resourceful in her side-out game. She has good size, length and a heavy right arm. Gammage, who can also play on the right, often hits a little bit of a slower set in the middle, but she's pretty effective at it. Her reaction speed is really impressive and she does a good job with her ball control as well. She's been spending more time as MacArthur's primary setter this season, but will also drop back and be a part of the team's serve-receive system eventually. As a setter, she runs a fairly simple, yet efficient offense, which prioritizes getting the team's main hitters in a position to score.
