1. St. Thomas Aquinas (14-1)
Aquinas jumps to the top spot after taking down former number 1 Liberty in the championship match. Betsy Goodenow Betsy Goodenow 6'0" | RS St. Thomas Aquinas | 2023 State #92 Nation KS , Tatum Grimes Tatum Grimes 6'2" | MB St. Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State #184 Nation KS , and company had a good weekend.
2. St. James (12-0)
St. James still sits undeated at 12-0. They have a chance to grab the top spot with a win over now #1 Aquinas on Tuesday.
3. Liberty (15-1)
The Blue Jays took their first L of the year in the championship of the Mo/Kan. A little taste of defeat can go a long way to a new winning steak.
4. Blue Valley North (11-3)
They get some good compeition this week in a tri with #1 and #2.
5. Blue Valley West (9-5)
West doesn’t have a “bad” loss. Every defeat came to a team that is or was ranked at some point this season and a very good Washburn Rural team. Alex Myers Alex Myers 6'1" | RS Blue Valley West | 2025 State KS is a player stepping up this season.
6. Liberty North (11-2)
The Eagles entered the L column for the first time this year…but to #1 Aquinas and #5 Blue Valley West. They are turning some heads early this season behind the play of Carlie Cisneros Carlie Cisneros 6'0" | OH Liberty North | 2024 State #7 Nation MO .
7. Olathe West (18-2)
The team that has come out of no where is still picking up victories. They get a test Tuesday with #8 Olathe Northwest. Could this be the start of a new rivalry?
8. Olathe Northwest (8-4)
Northwest took a couple of losses at Mo/Kan, to Liberty North and St. Teresa’s. They are a talented team who in the last couple of seasons have started off a little slow before catching their rhythm. Emmy Sher Emmy Sher 5'8" | DS/L Olathe Northwest | 2024 State KS is playing well defensively.
9. Blue Valley (8-4)
Blue Valley dropped their first matches of the year but will give them the benefit of the doubt playing without one of the top liberos in the county. Did we mention how good Kate Peterson is and she somehow wasn’t on our radar?
10. Heritage Christian (11-3)
HCA enters the top 10. Many may think to high for a small Class 3 school. We would pick them in contests today against every team ranked below them.
11. Lee’s Summit West (10-5)
The Titans were strong at Mo/Kan and played some competitive volleyball. They are a team with enough pieces to make a strong late season push.
12. Baldwin (13-1)
Baldwin had a good week last week after suffering their first loss the week before to #10 HCA. Fisayo Afonja Fisayo Afonja 5'10" | MB Baldwin | 2024 State KS is playing well beside Chaney Barth.
13. Lansing (7-2)
Lansing was a team we ranked earlier in the year and thought they were on a rebuild…the did it fast racking up some good wins at their tournament and will look to pick it back up this week.
14. Platte County (14-3)
Platte County has entered the rankings after taking home the Winneonka tournament.
15. Blue Valley Northwest (8-5)
BVNW hangs out in the rankings. They have five losses but none that make you shake your head.
