We really liked what we saw in Afonja throughout the day. At 5’10”, her explosion off the floor was among some of the best seen throughout the day. She has the ability to even move out to either pin and contribute at the next level. She has a good reach, which she utilizes to get on top of her swings. She had 297 kills this fall for Baldwin and earned second team All-State honors for Class 4A.

It didn’t take long for Afonja to make her mark at this event. The Baldwin middle blocker has been a steady .300+ hitter throughout her career, and it’s easy to see why. Afonja puts so much heat behind her swings and opens up her approach to hit around any block. This is the definition of an instant standout.
