Continue ReadingIt doesn’t matter what level you play at when you think about the fact that NCAA research shows that only four percent of high school volleyball players play in college. Texas is second to none when it comes to our players earning the right to play at the next level. The offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming. We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams. We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front. There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the club and high school volleyball season. They also have been hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have made their college decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
Olivia Abbott Olivia Abbott 5'7" | OH Stratford | 2023 TX [2023] 5-7 Libero (HS: Stratford/Club: Absolute Volleyball Academy/Verbal: Incarnate Word University)
Olivia is currently an unranked prospect in the 2023 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She is an electric libero from Stratford High School and also plays club for the awesome Absolute Volleyball Academy of Texas program in Southeast Houston. Olivia routinely tallies double-digit digs for Stratford varsity program. She sets up in left back and has amazing court vision to see around the block to be in perfect position to dig the hard driven cross-court shot from the opposing left side. Miss Abbott is one person who any coach would trust to be in the game at pivotal times. Her ball control is superb and she dazzles crowds as she is all over the court to keep her team in the rally. She will have no problem playing volleyball at the next level. We are proud to announce that she has decided to play college volleyball at Incarnate Word University and we think she will be an immediate impact player for them from the moment she steps on campus. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing at the next level.
Macy Taylor Macy Taylor 5'10" | OH Sachse | 2023 State TX [2023] 5-10 Outside (HS: Sachse/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Providence College)
Macy is currently ranked as the 147th best overall prospect in the 2023 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She is a solid attacker from Sachse High School and also plays club for Dallas Skyline. Certain players were just born to play the wonderful sport of volleyball and when you watch Miss Taylor play, you see this in her. She has a picturesque approach and swing on the ball that makes volleyball enthusiasts like myself smile. Although she can bring the noise when she wants to, she also has a great ability to change her hand contact on the ball and score in a variety of ways. I have seen her move her hand to the bottom third of the ball and go high, hard, and deep to the corners. She also tools the block deliberately and it works to perfection. Her off-speed roll-shot is sick as it stifles the defense every time. She goes up hard and disguises it so well that everyone thinks she is going to unleash the hammer, but then at the last second, she fools everyone with her roll. We are proud to announce that she recently committed to playing volleyball at Providence College. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing college volleyball.
Roslyn Guerra [2023] 5-10 Outside/Right Side (HS: Lanier/Club: San Antonio Juniors /Verbal: University of Texas at Permian Basin)
Roslyn is currently an unranked prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays at Lanier High School and club for the San Antonio Juniors program. She can play both left side or right side with ease and has no trouble adjusting to the timing of the set to let it cross her body. She uses her arms very well to take a big swooping approach and up swing to help get her on top of the ball. I love how she absolutely destroys the ball inside of the attack line. She has an absolute cannon for an arm and will use that at the next level for sure. We are proud to announce that she has committed to playing volleyball at the University of Texas at Permian Basin. Please help us congratulate her on realizing her dream of playing at the next level.
