We've kicked off another week of high school action in Nebraska, which means it's time to highlight a few more Tuesday matchups.

Once again, we're taking a tour of schools of all different sizes to feature as many teams as possible. There was no shortage of eyebrow-raising results last night, so we're diving right in!

Early-Season Statements

A few momentous Tuesday scores captured my attention right away.

Omaha Westside got back on track with a huge home sweep over Millard West. It was a huge bounce back for the Warriors after falling to Papillion-La Vista on the road to wrap up last week. We wrote a lot about Westside's electrifying offense after the opening weekend of the 2022 season, and that group keeps meshing against some very tough opposition.

Wisner-Pilger picked up a solid pair of wins that was headlined with a 2-1 victory over Clarkson/Leigh. After sweeping past West Point-Beemer, the Gators have improved to a 6-2 record and seem eager to make it back to Lincoln this November.

Norfolk Catholic competes at the 2021 state championships.

We saw a strong Tuesday performance from another state championship favorite. Norfolk Catholic found its groove against Lutheran High Northeast and posted a straight-set sweep to move the Knights' overall record to 5-1. As expected, Norfolk Catholic's strong group of veteran attackers is leading the way in what could be a championship season for the Knights. [player_tooltip player_id='171633' first='Addison' last='Corr'], [player_tooltip player_id='104998' first='Alli' last='Brungardt'], and Wayne State commit [player_tooltip player_id='83539' first='Channatee' last='Robles'] are posting huge numbers that should keep Norfolk Catholic's title aspirations firmly within reach as we approach season's end.

If you're looking for the match of the day, though, I'd like to nominate the Class D2 battle between Diller-Odell and defending state champion Falls City Sacred Heart. These two squads will undoubtedly factor heavily in the postseason race this fall, and they proved their quality by producing a five-set thriller. Two of the first four sets went deuce Tuesday night, and the Irish eventually showed their championship experience and triumphed 15-8 in the fifth set. Falls City Sacred Heart is now 7-2 on the year, while Diller-Odell sits at 5-2.

Assortment of Triangulars

Let's get a few more quick hitters on the vast array of Tuesday triangulars.

Defending D1 champion Howells-Dodge polished off a pair of wins over Pender and Tri County Northeast. Since dropping that season-opening thriller to Oakland-Craig a few weeks ago, the Jaguars have won six straight.

Don't look now, but Cambridge still hasn't dropped a set this year. Really! The Trojans continued their remarkable streak with wins against Dundy County-Stratton and North Platte St. Patrick's to push the unblemished record to 8-0.

But wait, there's more! St. Paul is sitting alongside Cambridge in the distinction of not having dropped a set this year. The Wildcats always expect to be in the postseason hunt, and they've added two more wins against Ravenna and Arcadia/Loup City. A 7-0 start is more than satisfactory for this storied St. Paul program.

Humphrey St. Francis is also building on a perfect mark and added sweeps over Burwell and St. Edward to its docket. The Flyers return a few of the same players we saw in last year's state championships, but there are also some new faces making an impact in the lineup. We might see this team again in November.

We've kicked off another week of high school action in Nebraska, which means it's time to highlight a few more Tuesday matchups.
