Three of those four are in the same regional site, making THAT the toughest series of matches in 2A on Saturday. Here are the eight teams involved, their records, whom they play and the uncommitted players that can help their squads win both matches Saturday.
At Rochester:
10:30a: South Central (27-5) v Wabash (26-6)
With both programs senior-laden, it goes without saying that neither experience nor nerves will be a factor tomorrow morning. For the Satellites, we’re looking for Ella Schmack (’23, 5-6 RS) to continue to pound away at unsuspecting blocks while Wabash is caught by surprise. The Apaches have their own senior stud in Faryn Morris (’23, 5-9 OH), who can take over a match if you let her.
1p: #1 Andrean (27-5) v Churubusco (24-8)
The Fighting 59ers are the defending 2A state champs, and instead of coasting through this fall, they played a very tough schedule to prepare them for this very weekend. Marin Sanchez Marin Sanchez 5'10" | OH Andrean | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-10 OH) has been the go-to all season for Andrean. Look for her to continue to play that role again. The Eagles, however, won their very first sectional in volleyball this past weekend, and have will have a solid group of attackers both this year and next to make it this far. With all of those attackers, we need someone to get them the ball. Insert Aryssa George Aryssa George 5'4" | S Churubusco | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-4 S), who runs a 5-1 with ease and always seems to find the right hitter in the right situation.

At Elwood:
10a: #7 South Adams (28-6) v Lafayette Central Catholic (21-11)
A new-blood versus a blue-blood. LCC has been around the top of both 1A and 2A for years. LCC moved up to 2A due to their tournament success, and they don’t even look like they missed a beat. They haven’t seen a pair like the Pries sisters, namely Macy Pries (’24, 5-8 OH), who is a primary-passing, hard hitting outside who can attack from anywhere. The Knights shouldn’t be fazed by tough players; they’ve seen plenty this fall. Sophomore setter Kaitlyn Kuckkan Kaitlyn Kuckkan 5'7" | S Lafayette Central Catholic | 2025 State IN (’25, 5-6 S) has the ability to keep the ship afloat during the toughest of times, and runs a 5-1 better than most in this class.
12:30p: #10 Madison-Grant (27-5) v #2 Wapahani (28-5)
I know we’re supposed to throw the regular season results out now that we’re in one-and-done mode, but these two actually played each other this fall, with the Raiders sweeping the Argylls. Does the pressure ramp up for Chloe Cook Chloe Cook 5'9" | OH Wapahani | 2023 State IN (’23, 5-8 OH), who’s on her last time around for a state title at Wapahani? Or does Alexis Baney Alexis Baney 5'10" | MB Madison-Grant | 2023 State IN (’23, 5-11 MB/OH) and her heavy arm continue to pound away at the competition? The Raiders’ plan this fall was to earn a state title through a team effort, so Miss Baney is going to need some help if M-G wants to win this one.
