Continue ReadingAfter the sectional dust has settled, a ton of teams are now home for good. All that remains are 64 teams across all four classes. In class 4A, 16 teams make up the bulk of the top teams in the state, with three of the top ten in this regional alone. Here are the four teams in the Greenfield-Central regional and their primary players who have yet to commit to a school.
10a: #2 Yorktown (31-2) v #4 Brebeuf (26-3)
Back in mid-August, these two matched up for an epic early-season matchup. Those in attendance were blessed with some of the best volleyball has to offer in the state. Both of these teams are different from that five set showdown, and things change during one-and-done season. The Tigers have a physical leader in Charlotte Vinson Charlotte Vinson 6'1" | OH Yorktown | 2025 State #21 Nation IN (’25, 6-1 OH), my pick for the top player in the class of ’25 in Indiana. Her ability to change how teams defend and her all-around game can make the difference in any match, let alone a top-five contest. Sydney Robinson Sydney Robinson 5'8" | OH Brebeuf | 2023 State IN (’23, 5-7 OH) will be the highest jumper in the gym on Saturday, and her physicality, strength and maturity will be key for the Braves.
12:30p: Cathedral (23-9) v #8 Brownsburg (24-7)
This should be interesting. Cathedral is one of the blue-bloods of volleyball in Indiana, while Brownsburg has recently (read: last five years) shown their prowess in the 900 square feet. The winner of this one has to face a more-rested winner of the previous match, so there’s that. But for now, this is their focus. OUR focus is on Cathedral’s Taylor Lewis Taylor Lewis 6'1" | OH Cathedral | 2024 State #179 Nation IN (’24, 6-1 OH), who is a big, physical presence from anywhere and has the potential to be a six-rotation stud at a high level. The Bulldogs have their own studs, but getting them in-system swings will be key. Aysa Thomas Aysa Thomas 5'10" | S Brownsburg | 2025 State IN (’25, 5-10 S) has been running a 5-1 since early in her high school career, and will need to make upper-level decisions to keep Cathedral’s defense honest.
