In what looks to be an exciting district, there are a few teams more than capable of walking away with the title. Here is what we should expect this evening and throughout the weekend.

Teams (in order by seed): Belton, St. Michael, Grain Valley, Warrensburg, Notre Dame De Sion, Raytown South, Grandview, Ruskin

Belton vs. Ruskin

Key Players: Belton; Bella Scherfenberg, Avery Caskey, Alaina Saunders. Ruskin; No Information Available

After a nine-win 2021, Belton more than doubled the total in 2022 with twenty-six wins in the regular season. They will get by Ruskin with little trouble behind the duo of Avery Caskey and Bella Scherfenberg, both averaging over 4 kills per set.

Warrensburg vs. Notre Dame De Sion

Key Players: Warrensburg; Kimberly Maxwell, Grace Hill. Notre Dame; No Information Available

Warrensburg enters districts winners of four straight. They captured twenty wins this fall behind Hill and Maxwell. Notre Dame doesn't have as many w's in the win column but they play a heavy schedule of larger Kansas City teams. These teams share one common opponent in two seed St. Michael, who beat both of them. We will ride with the team out of Kansas City.

St. Michael vs. Grandview

Key Players: SMA; Lily Vanbetter, [player_tooltip player_id='152151' first='Remy' last='Covinsky'], [player_tooltip player_id='232325' first='Addi' last='MacLean']. Grandview; Essence Kendall, Jordin Mcgee, Jaliyah Mcgee

St. Michael is one of three teams we think can capture the district title after earning twenty-five wins this fall. Every team in this district they faced this year they took down. Three players are averaging over 2 kills per set with Maclean spreading around the wealth. They should sweep a Grandview team coming in losers of seven in a row. Track and field standout Essence Kendall has been their leader offensively.

Grain Valley vs. Raytown South

Key Players: Grain Valley; Kayla Gallagher, [player_tooltip player_id='152143' first='Addi' last='Bybee'], Hailey Jennings. Raytown South; No Information Available

Grain Valley when clicking is the final team we think can play their win to a title. We saw them recently take a good Platte County team to five sets. Hailey Jennings has been very good defensively for Grain Valley. We expect them to win easily over the Cardinals, who come in losers of their last five contests.
