District 7
Lee’s Summit West vs. Lee’s Summit North
Both teams swept their quarterfinal matches to face off today for the right to advance to the championship. The Titans had a balanced attack Thursday with four players earning five kills or more. These two teams saw each other a couple of weeks ago with Lee’s Summit West getting the 3-1 win. The Broncos played a tough schedule this year but look for them to end their season today.
Lee’s Summit vs. St. Teresa’s Academy
This will be the match of the day with high flyers and tremendous defenders on each side of the net. Both teams were able to get sweeps Thursday and rest some players for today’s match that could go five like the previous time they saw each other this year, a Tiger victory. Ashlyn Bellmany, Brooke Boyer Brooke Boyer 5'9" | OH Lee's Summit | 2024 State MO , and Jordan Stout Jordan Stout 6'1" | MB Lee's Summit | 2023 State MO all hit double-digit kills against Ray-Pec. STA played one of the toughest schedules in the city this fall. We think Lee’s Summit depth will carry them on to the final.
District 8
Liberty vs. Park Hill South
These teams went five sets not long ago. We don’t expect that to happen today as Liberty has its eyes set on one thing, a state title. Park Hill South will need to be perfect in all facets of the game today. If they can keep balls off the ground with Isabel Day Isabel Day 5'9" | DS/L Park Hill South | 2023 State MO , they have the fearless hitters to keep things interesting. Liberty sweep.
Liberty North vs. Park Hill
The two Liberty schools take down the two Park Hill schools today. North is just too deep and talented for the Park Hill team that’s struggled to be consistent this year. Mak Miller had 8 kills on Thursday for the Eagles. Shaye Koski Shaye Koski 5'10" | OH Park Hill | 2023 State MO had 20 kills in a 4-set win over Staley.
