We’re taking a look at the setters who are leading their teams into the final weeks and have found ways to get their attackers in position to score while also taking a few swings themselves. Here are five setters to know leading their teams in Class 4A and 5A in Colorado.
Kyra Kisting – Palmer Ridge
Senior
Kisting is one of the top setters in the state while setting for one of the top teams in the state in Palmer Ridge who is currently ranked second in Class 4A. She has eclipsed 600 assists on the season and is averaging nearly ten assists per set. Palmer Ridge lost of their first match of the season to Class 5A power Valor Christian and has rattled off 18 straight from then. One of Kisting’s top targets is Dayton commit, Corrie Anderson who is averaging nearly five kills per set.
Ashlyn Tafoya – Thompson Valley
Sophomore
Thompson Valley is sitting atop of the Class 4A rankings with a 19-0 record where they haven’t even dropped a set yet this season. Only a sophomore, Tafoya is averaging nearly ten assists per set and their team is hitting nearly .400 which is a mind boggling stat. There are four attackers who average at least two kills per set, starting with another sophomore in Tatum Sharp who is the top kill leader. Tafoya plays club for Rocky Elite. She knows how to lead, defend, and finds a way to get her attackers in position to terminate.
Jessie Duytschaever – Cheyenne Mountain

Duytschaever has been putting up some big numbers her whole career. She has been running the show for Cheyenne Mountain who is currently in the top ten of Class 4A. They have won six of their past seven, building some key momentum heading into tournament time. Duytschaever is dynamic where she can get her hands on the ball in a scramble situation where she’s looking to find top attackers Nicole Martin or Anna Blamires. She is on track to finish her career with nearly 2,000 assists.
Regan Kadel – Legend
Junior
Kadel is a 5’10 Junior with a huge upside, showing that she can do a little bit of everything for her team. Legend is currently 18-3, ranked third in Class 5A. Kadel is a huge part of their success where she has tallied over 600 assists and 100 digs. The Titans have not dropped a match in over a month and are building some big momentum heading into tournament time. Some top attackers on the receiving end of Kadel’s assists are Ania Schwartzendruber and Grace Woodring.
Izzy Starck – Rampart
Junior
To talk about top setters in Class 4A and 5A in Colorado or any class for that matter, Izzy Starck has to be among the best. The future Penn State commit is one of the top overall players in the state of Colorado. She’s spent time wearing a USA jersey for the Youth National team this summer and the ceiling is extremely high for Starck. This season she is leading Rampart to a 15-3 overall record and a top five ranking in Class 5A. She is also a top attacker averaging nearly four kills per set as well.
