Continue ReadingThe high school season is ramping up district play and there are some players that are scoring at will all over the court. These young ladies cannot be stopped. They are scoring in bunches for their varsity squads and no one has been able to slow them down. This series of articles will be highlighting players in every grade level who are filling up the stat books. We are going to continue with the sensational senior class and give props to the attackers who are leading the entire state in kills. Please help us recognize the following players.
Evyn Snook Evyn Snook 6'1" | OH Magnolia West | 2023 State TX [2023] 6-2 Outside (HS: Magnolia West/Club: Texas Tornados / Verbal: UT at Artlington)
Evyn is currently listed as the 77th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She is a true six-rotation pin hitter from Magnolia West High School and also from Texas Tornados Volleyball club. She has been a super consistent scoring threat for her varsity squad for the last four years. She stepped onto the scene as a freshman and has not stopped her production since. This year has been her best year by far on the offensive end. She has a career best 520 kills on a great .224 hitting percentage. Miss Snook will take her talents to the University of Texas at Arlington next season, but we are enjoying her one last time. For her career, she is sitting at 1,351 kills and not many can say that. When this young lady gets on top of the ball, watch out! She has incredible power and is already playing at a division one college level. She has an uncanny ability to move the ball around the block no matter where they are. It is due to some amazing court vision that UTA will love next year.
Kenna Buchanan [2023] 5-10 Outside (HS: Midlothian/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Texas A&M at Corpus Christi)
Kenna is currently an unranked prospect in the 2023 class according to our Texas State Rankings, but has been on my watch list for a while now and she should have no problem making the list when I update it. She plays for Midlothian High School and also for Dallas Skyline. Another four-year starter who has been terrorizing opponents all this time. She is having one heck of a senior year by tallying 499 kills on a whopping .382 hitting percentage. The A&M Corpus Christi commit will make an immediate impact on their roster from the moment she steps on campus. While she might not be over 6 ft tall like some of her counterparts, this young lady lives above the net and scores in bunches due to her remarkable speed and amazing ability to adjust her footwork to the ball. Midlothian loves to bring her inside to the 3 and 5 position along the net to score during play sets. Her amazing footwork puts her in a perfect position to kill the ball. She is a flat out stud on the court and we are proud to have covered her career.
Blaire Bayless Blaire Bayless 6'2" | OH Plano West | 2023 State #63 Nation TX [2023] 6-2 Outside (HS: Plano West/Club: Madfrog /Verbal: University of Pittsburgh)
Blaire is currently listed as the 13th best overall prospect according to the 2023 Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays at Plano West high school and also club for the famed Madfrog volleyball club. We have covered her numerous times over the past couple of years and she still continues to be one of the best players in the state. She has tallied 495 kills on a .305 hitting percentage during her senior season. Blaire is a woman playing against girls out there on the hardwood. She is a lethal threat to score from any location on the court at any time. If you have not seen her play, you are missing out on an absolutely picturesque approach to the ball. We will be cheering her on as she suits up for Pitt next season all the way from Texas. In the meantime, we are loving watching her for one last time.
