Where Are The Super Setters At? Senior Edition

Standing at 5'11, she is in a perfect position to go up and make athletic plays on tight sets. The ball always looks like it comes out of her hands smooth, but fast enough for a quick attack out of the middle. She plays for Rosehill Christian and is currently leading them to a district championship. Savannah is going to Lee University next fall. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3>Maggie Ellender - Klein Oak</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Maggie Ellender is leading her district in assists and is approaching the 1,000 assist milestone, and should hit it any time now. She has really come out of her shell this year and is running a very effective offense for Klein Oak. Klein Oak is trying to make the playoffs for the first time since the 16-17' season. Maggie is running the offense in all 6 rotations for the Panthers and has really improved her offensive IQ.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3>Sydney Schandua - Fredericksburg </h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sydney brings something extra to the table setting for Fredericksburg. She is a great defender who doesn't let balls hit the floor. She obviously runs the floor very well on offense as she is second in the district for assists. Her jump set is so smooth to any position, exactly what you are looking for in a senior setter. Sydney is a great attribute to her team both offensively and defensively.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3>[player_tooltip player_id='87539' first='Harper' last='Cooper'] - Parish Episcopal</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='87539' first='Harper' last='Cooper'] is a sneaky setter who likes to catch the other team off guard. She is very hard to read and runs a fast offense. As a blocker, it's hard to tell where she is going with her sets, and a lot of the time her hitters have a single or split block because of this. She loves to go up and get a tight set and make a big play out of it. A lot of her volleyball IQ and athleticism will serve her well when she goes to UCLA for beach next fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3>[player_tooltip player_id='99494' first='Miller' last='McDonald'] - Lake Highlands</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='99494' first='Miller' last='McDonald'] is one of the best setters in North Texas. She is fast, accurate, and intense. She has 849 assists so far this season and doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon. She plays for Mad Frogs and ran that offense efficiently at Nationals as well. What I like about Miller, is her ability to set a fast-tempo ball even 12 feet from the net to any position on the front row. She is off to Providence College next fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3>[player_tooltip player_id='141134' first='Audrey' last='Clark'] - Wakeland</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='141134' first='Audrey' last='Clark'] is an incredible 6 rotation setter for Wakelake. She has over 2,600 career assists. She is 5'9 but blocks like a 6'0 middle, and can feed her hitters from anywhere on the court. Her incredible volleyball IQ and setting placement will transfer over really well when she goes to Creighton next fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3>[player_tooltip player_id='87574' first='Dylan' last='Gilkey'] - Cedar Park</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='87574' first='Dylan' last='Gilkey'] is off to San Jose State next fall after having a massive career at Cedar Park. She currently sits at 3,300 assists with several weeks of the season left. She has done a fantastic job over the course of her 4 years at Cedar Park as well as her club Austin Juniors. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
