There have been some amazing tournaments and great district battles. We have been talking to coaches, reading tons of stats, and getting lots of video submissions from parents and players regarding how everyone has fared over the course of the season. As we are now into the playoffs, we will be discussing some players who are being nominated for our inaugural Prep Dig California All-State Awards. Our end-of-season awards are going to be different because we are going to consider all divisions/conferences together and pick the best of the best. The Setters we will be discussing have been tearing it up and proving themselves all season long with some amazing statistics. Let’s meet some of the nominees:
Zoe Rachow Zoe Rachow 5'11" | S Otay Ranch | 2023 State #141 Nation CA [2023] 5-10 Setter (HS: Otay Ranch/Club: Coast/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Zoe is currently ranked as the 4th best overall prospect and best setter in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Otay Ranch High School and for Coast Volleyball. I took a long hard look at all of the setters in this class and Zoe kept making her way to the top of the list in almost every category. She is extremely fundamentally sound and very powerful to push the ball with ease to any location from anywhere on the court. She has sniper abilities with the ball and is pinpoint accurate. This year she has tallied 1,027 assists, 259 digs, 41 total blocks, 78 aces and 122 kills. She has proved once again to be one of the best setters in the entire state. Please help us congratulate her on being named as a nominee for an All-State Award.
Miranda Kaack [2023] 5-8 Setter (HS: Victory Christian Academy/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Miranda is currently an unranked prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Victory Christian Academy. She is a fantastic distributor of the ball who has been a leader for her squad for a while now. This year she has tallied 1,116 assists, 130 aces, 147 digs and 88 kills. She has helped her team reach the state tournament during her senior season with impeccable leadership. She is moving the ball around to all of her hitters very effectively and this is due to amazing footwork and great repeatable technique with her hand contact. We are very proud to have her listed as a nominee this year. She has earned it with all of her hard work. Please help us congratulate her on earning a nomination for our All-State Award.
Kyra Miller [2023] 5-11 Setter (HS: Clovis North/Club: Valley volleyball Academy/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Kyra is currently an unranked prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She stars as a setter for Clovis North High School and plays club for Valley volleyball Academy. Currently she has the second most assists amongst all seniors in the entire state. She has amassed 1,068 assists, 203 digs, 52 total blocks and also added 42 aces and 72 kills on the year. This kind of production is exactly why she is listed as a nominee. We love what she does on the court with her long length as a setter. She utilizes her long arms to push the ball to the pins with ease. I also love her hand contact that she uses in her jump float serve to stifle the opposing serve receivers. Please congratulate her on being named a nominee for an All-State Award.
