Class of 2024 All-State Nominations – Liberos Vol 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2022 High School season has been amazing so far!&nbsp; Along with our readers, we have been on pins and needles watching teams battle all season long.&nbsp; There have been some amazing tournaments and great district battles.&nbsp; We have been talking to coaches, reading tons of stats, and getting lots of video submissions from parents and players regarding how everyone has fared over the course of the season.&nbsp; As we are now into the playoffs, we will be discussing some players who are being nominated for our Prep Dig Texas All-State Awards.&nbsp; Our end-of-season awards are going to be different because we are going to consider all divisions/conferences together and pick the best of the best.&nbsp; The Liberos we will be discussing have been tearing it up and proving themselves all season long with some amazing statistics.&nbsp; Let's meet some of the nominees:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://prepdig.com/player/alyssa-manitzas/"></a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='142213' first='Lola' last='Davila']&nbsp;[2024] 5-6 Libero (HS: Brandeis/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Texas Tech)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lola is currently ranked as the 79^th&nbsp;best overall prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. &nbsp;She plays high school volleyball at Brandeis High School and also club for Alamo out of the San Antonio area. &nbsp;I wrote an article previously on her and here is a little of what we stated, <em>“In a club that is known for its amazing liberos, Lola is anointed as the next one.&nbsp; She is a stud defensively and has amazing serve receive skills.&nbsp; &nbsp;Her base is always very well balanced and strong, which means that she is extremely coachable.&nbsp; You can see it when you see her posture and body control before, during and after contact in serve receive.&nbsp; She is a floor general in the back row and when you watch her play you can see her leadership.&nbsp; I haven't seen a libero get split out so much in serve receive and be able to cover so much ground and still deliver a beautiful ball to her setter in a while.&nbsp;Alamo routinely divides the court in half in serve receive and lets Lola determine where she needs to be in order to pass nails.&nbsp; As a coach, this is the best respect you can give a libero and Miss Davila commands it.”&nbsp; </em>She had a fantastic junior season in which she helped her team to a 29-16 overall record and a district record of 12-4. &nbsp;Her dig total is what caught our eye as she tallied 935 digs on the year.&nbsp; She also had 1,090 service receptions, 65 aces, and 111 assists.&nbsp;Please congratulate her on being nominated for an All-State award.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='197081' first='Carly' last='Chavez']&nbsp;[2024] 5-7 Libero (HS: O'Connor/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Carly is currently ranked as the 122^nd&nbsp;prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.&nbsp; She plays for O'Connor High School and also for the famed Alamo volleyball club program.&nbsp; We profiled her this past clubs season when she wowed us with her performance at the Sunshine Showcase and here is a little from the article,&nbsp;<em>“She is a lightning quick libero who covers a lot of ground very quickly for her teams.&nbsp; Many coaches noted how extensive her defensive range was during our game-like drills in the showcase.&nbsp; Carly was giving her all and touching every ball near her zone.&nbsp; She did not let anything hit the floor without a valiant effort to touch it.&nbsp; I had many of her court coaches come up to me and tell me how good she was.&nbsp; When the spotlight shines on people, some have the propensity to fold under the pressure, but not Miss Chavez.&nbsp; She was very welcoming of the spotlight and looked very good in both individual drills and team play. &nbsp;Carly impressed me greatly with her defensive range.&nbsp; There were not a lot of balls that dropped near her zone when I watched.&nbsp; Alamo's success this season is a direct correlation to both her serve receive and defense.&nbsp; This young lady is able to fly all over the court and keep the ball alive for her team to stay in the rally.”&nbsp;&nbsp;</em>This season she showed out to everyone who was watching.&nbsp; She amassed 902 digs, 560 service receptions, 91 assists, 38 aces, and even added a kill.&nbsp; She helped lead O'Connor to an amazing 42-5 overall record and a perfect district record of 16-0.&nbsp; Their deep run in the UIL State Playoffs is a direct result of her defensive effort and ball control to keep their offense running smooth.&nbsp; We are proud to have her listed as a nominee.&nbsp; Please help us congratulate her on earning an All-State Nomination.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Alyson Aleman&nbsp;[2023] 5-3 Libero (HS: Lake Worth/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Alyson is currently an unranked prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.&nbsp; She is a fantastic libero from Lake Worth High School. &nbsp;This dual sport star also shines on the basketball hardwood for Lake Worth once volleyball season is complete.&nbsp; She is currently leading the state amongst juniors in digs with 1000 on the season.&nbsp; She also had 901 service receptions and 58 aces.&nbsp; She did a fantastic job of reading the play to put herself in a position to pick up off-speed shots from her opponents.&nbsp; I also love how comfortable she is at using her hands to dig overhead shots.&nbsp; Her footwork keeps her very balanced at contact and this helps her consistency to deliver great balls to her setter.&nbsp; Please congratulate her on being nominated for an All-State award.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There are many more amazing players that will be nominated.&nbsp;
