There have been some amazing tournaments and great district battles. We have been talking to coaches, reading tons of stats, and getting lots of video submissions from parents and players regarding how everyone has fared over the course of the season. As we are now into the playoffs, we will be discussing some players who are being nominated for our inaugural Prep Dig California All-State Awards. Our end-of-season awards are going to be different because we are going to consider all divisions/conferences together and pick the best of the best. The Middles we will be discussing have been tearing it up and proving themselves all season long with some amazing statistics. Let’s meet some of the nominees:
MacKenzie Parsons MacKenzie Parsons 6'2" | MB Poway | 2024 State #189 Nation CA [2024] 6-2 Middle (HS: Poway/Club: Coast/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Mackenzie is currently ranked as the 20th best overall prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Poway High School and also club for the nationally ranked Coast volleyball program. We profiled her last month and here is a little of what we stated, “Miss Parsons is able to do most of her damage out of the middle position. However, she is doing it more efficiently and better than all middles in the state of California for her grad class. She runs a fantastic slide out of the middle that is almost unstoppable. She mixes great footwork on every route with strong power from her upper body to destroy the ball. There haven’t been many blockers or back row defenders able to stop her consistently. Her setter knows just how dangerous she is and that is why they feed her early and often.” This season has been one for the record books as she has been one of the kill leaders in the state all year long. She has tallied 429 kills on a phenomenal .520 hitting percentage. This alone is a reason to put her up for an award. However she also tallied 30 aces, 85 blocks, and 115 digs on the year. Please help us congratulate her on earning an All-State Nomination.
Connie Huttman [2024] 5-10 Middle (HS: Willows/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Connie is currently an unranked prospect in the Prep Dig California State Rankings for the class of 2024. She is a stud middle blocker for Willows High School. Miss Huttman has tallied 394 kills on an efficient .311 hitting percentage. She has also amassed 38 solo blocks and 49 aces on the year. Her high school team just barely lost in the championship of the division four state championship and she was one of the main reasons why they made it that far. Her efficiency out of the middle is one big reason why she is a formidable opponent. I love how she can score to any corner at will on a quick tempo ball. She routinely led her squad in kills all year long in almost every match due to great footwork and a solid arm swing. We are proud to have her listed as a nominee. Please help us congratulate her on earning an All-State Nomination.
Evelyn Hendrix [2024] 6-2 Middle (HS: Whitney/Club: Synergy Force/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Evelyn is currently an unranked prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She is a fantastic middle for Whitney High School and also for Synergy Force volleyball club. So far this year she has 89 total blocks and 61 of them were solo blocks. She has also managed to have 203 kills on a .375 hitting percentage. Miss Hendrix is a phenomenal blocker who seals the net very well in front of her body. I love how she presses over the net and keeps her head forward instead of tilting it back like some middles do. This tells me that she has been trained really well and speaks to her “coachability”. She has the frame and power to play at the next level for sure. We are proud to have her listed as a nominee. Please help us congratulate her on earning an All-State Nomination.
