Continue ReadingThe 2022 High School season has been amazing so far! Along with our readers, we have been on pins and needles watching teams battle all season long. There have been some amazing tournaments and great district battles. We have been talking to coaches, reading tons of stats, and getting lots of video submissions from parents and players regarding how everyone has fared over the course of the season. As we are now into the playoffs, we will be discussing some players who are being nominated for our Prep Dig Texas All-State Awards. Our end-of-season awards are going to be different because we are going to consider all divisions/conferences together and pick the best of the best. The Middles we will be discussing have been tearing it up and proving themselves all season long with some amazing statistics. Let’s meet some of the nominees:
Jordan Taylor Jordan Taylor 6'5" | MB Langham Creek | 2025 State #46 Nation TX [2025] 6-4 Middle (HS: Langham Creek/Club: Houston Juniors /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Jordan is currently ranked as the 41st best overall prospect and 10th best middle in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays at Langham Creek High School and club for the amazing Houston Juniors program. I profiled her a while back and this is a refresher of what was stated, “She uses that size well and is lethal as a blocker and attacker. While everyone will be in awe of her height, I saw a very strong blocker who seals the net extremely well against top competition match after match. I was able to watch her squad five or six times this season at different tournaments and she got better and better each time I watched her. She will continue to grow into that tall frame and get even stronger and we will be there to cover her journey.” This season she truly established herself as a force in the middle. She was one of the top blockers in the entire state amongst sophomores as she tallied 197 total blocks with 112 being solo blocks. This kind of defensive production alone would warrant consideration, but she also added 70 digs and 352 kills on a fantastic .350 hitting percentage. Please congratulate her on being nominated for an All-State award.
Amelia Robinson Amelia Robinson 6'1" | MB Llano | 2025 State TX [2025] 6-0 Middle (HS: Lago Vista/Club: Austin Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Amelia is currently ranked as the 52nd best overall prospect according to the 2025 Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for Lago Vista High School and plays club for Austin Skyline. We have written a few articles on her and here is a little from the latest one, “I love the fact that Lago Vista uses her out of the left side during serve receive situations and then transitions her to her natural middle position for defense and transition. This will only help her improve as she learns how to time different tempos and locations. Most of the kill leaders are pins, but she does most of her damage out of the middle. She is a master at seeing the block in front of her and turning on the ball away to score. She will be an effective scorer for quite some time.” She led Lago Vista to a great run this season and is poised to be one of the main leaders for the next two years. Her stats this year were remarkable as she tallied 496 kills on a great .333 hitting percentage. She also added 37 aces, 108 total blocks (64 of them were solo), 211 service receptions, and 181 digs. She is turning into a total all around player. We are very proud of her growth as a middle and think she has not even come close to her potential. Please help us congratulate her on earning a nomination for an All-State Award.
Elly Stewart Elly Stewart 6'0" | MB Cornerstone Christian | 2025 State TX [2025] 5-11 Middle/Right Side (HS: Three Rivers/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Elly is currently ranked as the 53rd best overall prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. Miss Stewart plays at Three Rivers High School and also club for Alamo. We have profiled her a few times and this is a little from the latest article, “Her ability to rise up off of the ground makes it very difficult for anyone to stop her. The most impressive thing about her is that she is doing most of this damage out of the middle position. Most of the players that are leading the state in kills are pin attackers as everyone knows they get a majority of the attempts. Miss Stewart can ball at every position along the net and she will be a prize for any college that takes a chance on her.” She ended the year as one of the top kill leaders amongst sophomores. Miss Stewart tallied 562 kills on a wonderful .355 hitting percentage. She also added49 aces and 99 total blocks with 55 of them being solo blocks. We are very proud of her earning a nomination. Please help us congratulate her on earning a nomination for an All-State Award.
