Helping the teams from the four different Texas regions to advance were some of the state’s finest prospects, who delivered solid performances on the most important moment of the season.
Here are four players who came up big in the Regional Finals:
One of the highest-ranked prospects in our 2023 Prep Dig State Ranking, Schroder fulfilled her role as a key player for her Reedy team, delivering a fantastic performance in the team’s sweep of a strong Wakeland team in the Conference 5A – Region 2 Final. The powerful outside hitter was highly productive on offense, tallying a match-high 19 kills, but also made a difference on the backcourt, also leading the team in digs (16) and passes (23).
Lauren Greene

Lake Creek navigated a complicated Conference 5A – Region 3 bracket and survived much due to Greene’s excellent play. The senior setter was great in leading the team on the court and came up with a big performance against Brenham in the three-set victory that pushed the Lady Lions to their first State Tournament appearance. Besides dishing out 29 assists, to an average just under ten per set, the ball-handler also contributed with ten digs, three aces, two kills and one block.

Tompkins’ versatile and well-rounded outside hitter was a stud for the Falcons as they topped district rivals Cinco Ranch in three sets to advance from Conference 6A – Region 3. Titley was the second most effective hitter in a Tompkins team that’s tremendously gifted offensively with 11 kills and still provided great backcourt stability, leading her team in digs and passes, with 15 each. She also added two aces and two blocks.
Kieryn Adams

Schulenburg’s three-set victory over Johnson City in their Conference 2A – Region 4 Regional Final was built on excellent teamwork, but wouldn’t have happened without Adam’s relentless work on the backcourt. The junior libero was on fire on defense, registering impressive 24 digs for the Shorthorns, and also got the job done on serve-receive with ten passes and no errors.
