Watch out for the class of 2024 next season as they become veterans. Here are the second team Saint Louis area team members.
Nadia Wasilewski Nadia Wasilewski 6'1" | OH Jackson | 2024 State MO – Middle – Jackson
Nadia has been a fixture for the Indians since her high school career, and she’s played outside and middle. Nadia put down 244 kills, had 83 blocks, and changed the game with her athletic abilities. She has a quick first step out the pins, puts up a huge block, transitions quickly and has a hammer for an arm.
Alexis Hoffman Alexis Hoffman 5'11" | MB Advance | 2024 State MO – Middle/Setter – Advance
The 6’2″ middle helped her Hornets win another state title as she played middle and set for Advance. Alexis finished the year with 542 kills, 77 blocks, 318 digs, and 428 assists. She might be from a class 1 school, but she has massive potential for a next-level player.
Haley Yount Haley Yount 6'2" | MB Northwest | 2024 State MO – Middle – Northwest
Haley guided Northwest to another solid year, where the 6’2″ middle finished with 373 kills and 75 blocks. Career milestone 1000th kill will be eclipsed by Yount next year, and she could play either middle or opposite at the next level.
Catherine Woolf Catherine Woolf 6'0" | OH North Point | 2024 State MO – Outside – North Point
Woolf burst onto the scene last year for the Wolves and took it to the next level this year. The hard-hitting six rotation outside is a program changer for the newly opened North Point. Catie racked up 363 kills and 190 digs this year.
Gabbi Burkard Gabbi Burkard 5'11" | OH Festus | 2024 State MO – Outside – Festus
Burkard finished the year with 347 kills and 140 digs. I watched the 5’10” jumping jack last year in the club season and was impressed with her ability to play middle. Then I watched her play outside this year and was like, OMG! This kid can fly and can bounce the ball. With her ability to bounce the ball or play finesse, she will be a next-level talent.
Mia Scanlon Mia Scanlon 5'10" | OH Marquette | 2024 State MO – Outside – Marquette
Scanlon was good last year, but she took a huge step up and was a team leader this year. She plays with emotion and the attitude she can’t be stopped. She is a fun one to watch play and will be a solid next-level player, as she finished this year with 306 kills and 256 digs.
Kayla Robertson Kayla Robertson 6'0" | MB St. Dominic | 2024 State MO – Outside – St. Dominic
Kansas State has a good one coming in, as Robertson has developed into a terminating outside for the Crusaders. Kayla has all the tools to become a solid six-rotation outside because of her athleticism, length, and power. She would finish the year with 120 digs, and 380 kills for the Class 5 4th place finisher.
Ella Domian Ella Domian 5'8" | OH Jackson | 2024 State MO – Opposite – Jackson
A hard-hitting lefty that has great hand time and packs a mighty swing. Domian was one of my favorite opposites to watch this year. Her line shot is deadly, and her cross-court attacks are vicious. I can’t wait to see where she ends up playing college ball.
Katie Moore Katie Moore 5'1" | DS/L Windsor | 2024 State MO – Libero – Windsor
Moore will leave the Owls as the best libero in history and has 1286 career digs. She is a quick and intelligent libero, and her size makes her perfect for the position. Small but mighty are my favorite types of liberos.
Breckyn Koeller – Setter – Hermann
She is not a fancy setter but a dependable quarterback that knows her role and does it with precision. Hermann reloads each year at every position, and in her first season running the show for the Bearcats, Koeller led the team to a Class 2 runner-up finish. She would finish the year with 1156 assists, putting her in second place for assists in the area.
