Top Setters From Oklahoma
In this article:
The school season has just finished up, champions were crowned, and club volleyball tryouts are in full swing. Let’s take a minute to look back at some of the best setters from the state of Oklahoma this season. These athletes will be placed in a poll at the bottom. The top 4 in each position poll will move on to the finals! This poll will end the 6th at 8am.
Jasmine Liongco Jasmine Liongco 5'3" | S Yukon | 2025 State OK – Yukon. Yukon ended their season with a nail baiting 5 set loss to Mustang. I really look forward to seeing her play club this season. She has grown leaps and bounds with each season. She has great hustle and work ethic. She truly makes her team and teammates better when she is there.
Riley Roberts Riley Roberts 5'10" | S Norman North | 2023 State OK – Norman North. Norman North was all heart at the state tournament! They fought hard and never gave up. Riley embodies that and leads her team often in these regards. It doesn’t matter if it’s digging, serving, setting, or hitting, she is going hard and giving it her all. She helped lead her team to a state semifinal finish. She will be playing at UCO next year.
Brynn Roberts Brynn Roberts 5'9" | S Jenks | 2023 State OK – Jenks. Brynn is a competitor! She loves to battle and hates to lose. You can see that is evident in her play and body language. She has great touch, even on up tempo sets. She was a huge reason the Trojans were able to make it back to the state championship.
Emma Muldowney Emma Muldowney 5'9" | S Cache | 2024 State OK – Cache. Cache ended their season against Victory Christian at regionals. They had won 21 straight matches going into that match. Emma has great hands and is very strong with them. She can get the ball all over the court no matter where she is at. She is flying under most people radar due to being at a smaller school in western Oklahoma but she was an impact player when I saw her play in person.
Hailee Alexander Hailee Alexander 5'6" | S Broken Arrow | 2023 State OK – Broken Arrow. She has recently committed to play here in Oklahoma at The University of Tulsa. She has great court awareness and makes amazing decisions with her sets. She can track down errant passes with the best of them.
Emily Boyer Emily Boyer 5'11" | S Carl Albert | 2023 State OK – Carl Albert. She has committed to play at Oklahoma Baptist University. Her height and high touch point really allow her to be a threat as a setter from the back row. She has the power to push a set to the pin even if she is working in the opposite direction. I look for her to be very successful very soon at the next level. She was selected as an All-State player. Carl Albert made it back to state, beat Piedmont in the first round, and eventually fell to BM.
Livia Ward Livia Ward 5'11" | S Mount. St. Mary | 2025 State OK – Mount St. Mary. MSM finished their quest over a repeat title and did it convincingly. She can do it all folks! She may end up being one of the best players to come through Oklahoma. Its only her sophomore year but put me down as saying, she will go power 5 D1 if she wants to.
Mary Goodwin Mary Goodwin 5'8" | S Regent | 2025 State OK – Regent Prep. She helped lead Regent to a state championship runner up. Her ability to get a consistent ball to her hitters was huge all season. She is all over the court, whether she is setting or digging.
Kate Hook- Holland Hall. She was a big reason Holland Hall was able to win their first ever state volleyball championship. She is a very offensive minded setter. They ran a 5-1 system that allowed her to jump and attack when she was in the front row. She also was a threat as a hitter from the back row, they would often set her when they were out of system. She was voted as an All-State Player.
