Some of the athletes listed may have played multiple positions on the court, but we have chosen them for the positions that we think they excelled at the most. We watched tons of matches this year and covered a lot of athletes in order to determine who was the best of the best. All of the wonderful players made it very difficult to decide both nominees and who eventually won due to their performances. Please help us congratulate these winners of our prestigious All-State Awards.
1st Team All State Selection: Middle
Rachel Pierce [2024] 6-2 Middle (HS: Greenville Christian/ Verbal: Uncommitted)
Rachel is an unranked prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for Greenville Christian High School. She is a lengthy middle who can dominate the game on both sides of the ball. She is a skilled scorer who can move the ball around very efficiently around the block and also a stopper at the net on the defensive end. This year she tallied 542 kills on a super impressive and efficient .447 hitting percentage. This kind of production is key for any team to be competitive in any match. A lot of players can score the ball a lot if they get tons of attempts. Miss Pierce doesn’t need tons of reps as she is able to score on almost half of her attempts. She also was able to have 14 total blocks in which 77 of them were solo blocks. She also added 39 aces on the year. Her production out of the middle position is astounding and cannot be overlooked when comparing to other middles across the state. It is this reason on why we have chosen her as the recipient of 1st Team All-State honors. Please help us congratulate her on the achievement.
1st Team All State Selection: Middle
Jaela Auguste Jaela Auguste 6'0" | MB Grand Oaks | 2024 State #17 Nation TX [2024] 6-0 Middle (HS: Grand Oaks/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: Florida)
Jaela is currently listed as the 35th best overall prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays high school volleyball at Grand Oaks High School and will play club for Houston Skyline this year. Her junior year was one for the record books as she lit up the stat book with some impressive numbers. The most impressive was the fact that she was almost unstoppable at the net when it comes to scoring. Middles are always graded on how well they block and how efficient they score. While most attempts always go to the pins because of how many times out of system plays happen, it is imperative that a middle score on any attempt they get because of how few they actually get. This year, Jaela was the most efficient scorer in the entire state as she hit at a .524 clip. She scored 336 kills and had 164 total blocks to add to her already impressive numbers. The high-flying Florida Gator commit truly impressed everyone and deserves this honor. Please help us congratulate her on earning 1st Team All-State for our publication.
