There have been some amazing tournaments and great district battles. We have been talking to coaches, reading tons of stats, and getting lots of video submissions from parents and players regarding how everyone has fared over the course of the season. As we are now into the playoffs, we will be discussing some players who are being nominated for our inaugural Prep Dig California All-State Awards. Our end-of-season awards are going to be different because we are going to consider all divisions/conferences together and pick the best of the best. The Setters we will be discussing have been tearing it up and proving themselves all season long with some amazing statistics. Let’s meet some of the nominees:
Dani Lee [2025] 5-2 Setter (HS: University/Club: Rage/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Dani is currently an unranked prospect in the Prep Dig California State Rankings for the class of 2025, but that is only because we have not released them yet. She plays at University High School and also club for Rage. In her first season on varsity she has tallied the most assists amongst all sophomores in the state of California. She had 1,155 assists, 96 aces, 41 kills, and also added 170 digs. She plays defense like a libero and can move the ball accurately to all of her hitters along the net. To step into a major role that controls the entire offense is a big task. Miss Lee was up for the challenge and led her squad to a 28-7 overall record and an undefeated 10-0 record in their conference. She was by far the best setter in her grad class during the high school season and it showed in her production. We are proud to announce that she earned a nomination for an All-State Award from our publication.
Evie Turner [2025] 5-7 Setter (HS: Foothill/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Evie is currently an unranked prospect in the Prep Dig California State Rankings for the class of 2025, but that is only because we have not released them yet. She runs the show at Foothill High School. Her stats are very impressive as she has tallied 863 assists, 237 digs, 39 kills, and 50 aces in her second year on varsity. Last year she appeared in only ten sets but this year she was asked to step into a major role. She stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park in my opinion. I love how aggressive she is as part of the offense when she is in the front row. Despite not having a right side attacker, she puts the weight of the offense on her shoulders and send some furious balls over on two. This keeps the blockers and defenders honest and they have to account for her aggressive attacks also. Miss turner is extremely athletic and understands the game at a very high level. Please help us congratulate her on earning a nomination for one of our All-State Awards.
Lily Kautai Lily Kautai 5'9" | OH Menlo | 2025 State CA [2025] 5-9 Setter/Right Side (HS: Menlo/Club: Rage/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Lily is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings, but that is because we have not released them yet. She plays at Menlo High School and club volleyball for Rage. Last year she played a huge role as a freshman attacker for Menlo as they were extremely competitive. This year she was asked to lead the team as a setter also. While most players might have a hard time transitioning to a setter role, Miss Kautai flourished. She appeared in twice as many sets as last year and her production rose tremendously. She tallied 776 assists, 65 aces, 69 kills, and added 144 digs. As far as athleticism goes, Lily might be the most talented to be able to switch between hitting and setting in her class. She excels in both positions and could be very crucial to their run in the next few years. We think she has not come close to realizing her potential. Please help us in congratulating her on earning a nomination for one of our All-State Awards.
