We really like Makachia and her decision making in attack mode during the expo. She did a good job of tooling blockers to earn kills. She mixed up her shots using power and tips to the middle of the floor.
Highlights
The thing that impressed the most with Raterman was her arm action on her attacks. She had a good quickness and snap to her swings which allowed her to be successful on offense and find the floor on multiple occasions. As a young player, look for her blocking mechanics to improve over time.
Davis was one of the most athletic and explosive players in the gym. And this is one year removed from ACL surgery. It brings a smile to our face to see her back in the gym this fall and winter after working hard to get back on the court. And on the court she showed she can be a next level pin after playing middle mostly during the high school season. She is another player who sees the court well and working on developing more shots to her game.
Highlights
One of the most dynamic pins in the gym was Wattree. She list as a RS on the prospect sheet but showed she can do damage from the left pin as well. She gets off the ground fast, which benefits her offensively and defensively. We were impressed with her ability to pass in serve receive and can definitely see her as a true six rotation player.
Highlights
There was one player I walked by their court and saw one swing and said I need to stay and watch her for a while and it was Clayton. She can bring it! Her ability to get up and attack over the defense was a sight to see. She has real power behind her swings. I didn’t see much of this throughout the day but she was the one player who was lights out from the back row in attack mode. A true six pin.

The next outside in this edition will be the 5’10” St. Teresa’s OH. She is another who made their way in my notes as being athletic but really impressed with her lateral movement at the net in the blocking department and in back row defense. Like a few others, I really like her arm action and reach on her attacks. She had a productive sophomore year and should see even more attempts in 2023.
Our final pin to discuss in this part 2 will be Standifer. She checked all the boxes in what you want from a six rotation outside. While standing at only 5’9″, her jumping ability takes care of what may be lacking in height from a typical next level pin. She is aggressive in attack but knows when to pull the string to find the soft spot on the floor. She can get up with the best of them. She is really good in serve receive and vocal when in the back row. She is a next level competitor.
