Hitters Take Big Rips at Illinois Top 250 Expo

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Words to describe the hitters at Top 250 Expo would be quick, fast, and strong! The hitters all were taking big rips at the ball and were so fun to watch! Let's take a look at the hitters who shined this past weekend!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Class of 2026 5'10” MIddle Blocker [player_tooltip player_id='260969' first='Samantha' last='Freeman']:</strong> Freeman plays for Hampshire High School and club for Top Flight Volleyball. THis middle is athletic and takes big swings, has a high reach and runs the slide well for a freshman. She hits the line well on her slide. Freeman had 70 kills, 56 total blocks and 24 ace serves for the Whip-Purs this past fall. Keep this player on your radar for the next few years!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Class of 2026 6'1” Middle Blocker [player_tooltip player_id='243182' first='Isabelle' last='Kremer']:</strong> Kremer plays at Pleasant Valley High School in Iowa and club for [program_tooltip program_id='431948' first='Iowa' last='Rockets']. Kremer takes big rips at the ball. She blocks extremely well from pin to pin. Her big swings allow her to tool off the blockers as well. Kremer tooled a lot of shots off various blockers on Sunday. Kremer had 123 kills and 42 total blocks this past fall for the Spartans as a freshman.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Class of 2025 6'1” Outside Hitter [player_tooltip player_id='260952' first='Leah' last='Freesemann']:</strong> Leah plays for Central High School and club for [program_tooltip program_id='430059' first='Top' last='Flight Volleyball Club']. Freesemann is tall and has a great reach. She does an excellent job of getting on top of the ball. She takes huge swings full of power from either pin. She transitions well even after she passes the ball and can take some heat off the ball to keep defenders off balance. She also has a nice jump topspin serve that makes it hard for opponents to pass. When blocking her timing is good and she penetrates over the net so well. This girl has a high ceiling and is so explosive!&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Class of 2025 5'11” Outside Hitter and Right Side Hitter [player_tooltip player_id='260923' first='Delilah' last='Hyland']:</strong> Hyland plays for IC Catholic Prep and club for Chicago Elite. Delilah is strong and athletic. She moves well and loves to hit cross court on the slide. Hyland is versatile as she can paint the line down the line on her outside swings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Class of 2025 5'9” Outside Hitter [player_tooltip player_id='260955' first='Lucy' last='Pufundt']:</strong> Lucy plays at Rolling Meadows HIgh School and club for [program_tooltip program_id='431567' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431567' first='Adversity' last='']' last='']. Lucy has both power and finesse when it comes to hitting. One minute she will crank one down the line and then next she has a high floater finesse shot that kareems off the defenders arms. The biggest asset to Lucy is her ability to mix up her shots.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Class of 2025 5'9” Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist [player_tooltip player_id='243756' first='Tewa' last='Woodson']. </strong>Woodsen plays at Oak Park and River Forest High School and club for [program_tooltip program_id='431567' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431567' first='Adversity' last='']' last='']. Tewa has a fast arm swing and takes big rips at the ball. She can jump out of the gym.Tewa can also put some touch on the ball and do an easy short tip or swipe a tip of the block. Her strength is being able to tool shot opponents. Last fall she had 61 kills for the Huskies in her sophomore campaign.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Class of 2024 5'7” Outside HItter Addisen Peterson: </strong>Peterson plays at Saint Charles North and club for Top Flight. She has a fast arm swing and hits great cut shots. She is the go to for terminating and winning the side out.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Class of 2024 5'9” Outside Hitter [player_tooltip player_id='260941' first='Jessie' last='Trapp']:</strong> Trap plays at York High School and club for New Wave. Trapp hammered 275 kills this past fall for the Dukes. She is elusive and can put the ball down on the floor on the line or cross court. Trapp does a really great job of keeping the ball in front of her. She transitions well, but gets in fast to swing away.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>All of these players can rip the ball, but also put some finesse on the ball to catch defenses off guard.
