Houston Stop 1 Top 250 Expo Top Perfomers: Setters

Next up on my top performers list is setters. We had a gym full of setters today, and below we will talk about 5 athletes who stood out amongst the croud.

Lauren Green / Senior / TAV Houston

Senior setter Lauren Green looked absolutely amazing today during the 6v6 competition games. If I was a hitter, I would want Lauren as my setter. The placement of the ball is always on target when it leaves Lauren's hands. She also has a very fast release, and does a good job of keeping opposing middle blockers on their toes about where the ball is going.

Alexys James / Sophomore / Houston Skyline

Alexys James showed us top notch setting today on her court. She is incredibly fast and knows how to run an offense. She mixed up her setting and gave her team the ability to hit a variety of sets to be able to showcase everyone's abilities. She is also an excellent defender and server as well.

Isabella Orton / Sophomore / Texas Fury

Isabella Orton is the definition of all around athlete. When she wasn't setting, I saw her play middle, outside, middle back, and right side hitter. She can truly do it all, and do it well. She is a natural athlete who is very competitive by nature and out performed everyone on her court early on, which got her moved up.

Shea Bruntmyer / Junior / Tejas

Shae was a top performer today. She has beautiful setting hands that release a very smooth set. Her hitters on her court were very successful because of Shea. She looked very good in out of system sets, and was very encouraging and positive on the court.

Kenedy Massie / Sophomore / AVA

Kenedy Massie caught everyone's attention today in the gym. A quick move up in courts early on allowed her to show her more competitive side. She has a natural talent to track the ball and jump set even the toughest of passes and put the ball right on target for her hitters. It was truely amazing to watch her placement with her sets, easily one of the best in the gym on set placement.
