It was a fast paced two and half hour session of drills, wash games and competitive games. A ton of talent showcased their ability across all courts and positions, Here are few of the standouts regardless of position or class to take note of.
Class of 2025 5’11” Setter Brooke Larsen out of Lewis Central High School in Iowa and plays club for Premier in Nebraska. She is a nice sized setter at 5’11” and therefore can block well. Larsen has great hands and ball placement. She was really effective in getting her middles a quick set to hit and distributed the ball well to her hitters. She also did a great job of playing defense first in right back.
Class of 2025 6’0” Middle Blocker Faith Venable Faith Venable 6'1" | MB Lincoln Pius X | 2025 State NE : The middle plays for Pius X High School and club for VCNebraska. She ran the quick really well and was up and down before the block could touch it. She has long levers and runs the slide beautifully. She is able to hit line and crosscourt making her a huge weapon in the middle. She hit .401 for the Thunderbolts this fall with 270 kills in her sophomore campaign.
Class of 2025 5’10” Middle Blocker Hayden Hart Hayden Hart 5'10" | MB Gretna East | 2025 State NE : The middle plays for Gretna High School and club for 16 Premier Gold. The tangible thing that stood out to me was her energy level and passion for the game. She was a great teammate and elevated the play of others around her with her energy. She is strong, has a fast arm and is explosive. Hart also ran the slide well. She is able to shake off mistakes easily as well too. She averaged 2.3 kills per set for the Dragons this fall as a sophomore.
Class of 2024 6’0” Right Side Morgan Glasser: The opposite hitter plays for Papio-Lavista High and Premier 16 Gold. She has long levers, jumps well and swings hard. She is very agile and able to move quickly! She also blocks well and can slow down a lot of pin hitters. Glasser also tool shots effectively too. She had 383 kills for the Monarchs this past fall.
Class of 2024 5’11” Outside Hitter Addison Johnson Addison Johnson 5'10" | OH Columbus | 2024 State NE : This outside hitter out of Columbus High School and Nebraska Elite 171 was strong on the pin. She has a quick arm swing and as a result the junior hammered 318 kills and chipped in 38 aces and 292 digs for the Discovers this past season. She is also a strong serve receiver. A great six rotation player!
Overall it was a fantastic morning loaded with talent on all courts and age levels. Each of these players have a high ceiling and would be a huge get for any program. Keep them on your radar as club season approaches and into the 2023 season!
