#11, Azaria Sweet Azaria Sweet 5'4" | DS/L Boone County | 2025 State KY (Boone County)– With 620 digs in 91 sets, sophomore libero, Azaria Sweet Azaria Sweet 5'4" | DS/L Boone County | 2025 State KY led the team from a young age. Sweet also had the team-high of service aces with 57. Sweet works hard with her feet in serve receive to get to the ball, but also uses them defensively with her quick movement and fast reaction time. Averaging 6.81 digs per set, you could always count on Sweet to get the job done in the back row. She only knows how to break records as she reached her 1,000 digs mark as just a sophomore! Sweet has nothing but a sweet journey ahead 🙂
#12, Jayden Riddle (Gallatin County)– Another sophomore libero, Jayden Riddle, from Gallatin County striked some top numbers for the squad with 408 digs in 60 sets. Tallying another 18 service aces, Riddle performed well in the back row and behind the service line. Riddle always kept a smile on her face and led the team by example with her energy and spirit. Sometimes, the best way to motivate your team is by lifting them up, and that was exactly Riddle’s best quality.
#13, Raegan Abell (Washington County)– An interesting story from Washington County, Raegan Abell started out the year as a setter but slowly turned into the defensive specialist that the team needed. As a libero, Raegan Abell tallied 649 digs, 101 assists, and 44 service aces in 96 sets. Abell was never selfish and did what was necessary for her team which is what all coaches want in their players. Facing some tough district competition, Washington County played Bardstown in the first round and beat them in 5 sets where Abell finished with a whopping 40 digs. In their last game against Bethlehem, she ended her career with 20 digs and 5 assists.
#14, Madison Verst (Pendleton County)– The third sophomore to make it in the charts, Madison Verst of Pendleton County put up some great statistics with 540 digs in 80 sets. Losing their district championship in four sets against Harrison County, Verst counted 51 digs and 6 kills. Yes, you heard that right, kills, which means Verst is an all-around player. She also had 150 kills and 48 service aces on the year. Being versatile and a great teammate is a beautiful combination, and that was the kind of player Madison Verst was.
#15, Hannah Fite (Belfry)– Coming in with the #15 spot, we have junior defensive specialist, Hannah Fite, who had 496 digs in 75 sets. Averaging 6.61 digs per set, you could always find Fite flying around defensively in the back court and making plays when the team needed it the most. Belfy won the district finals against Phelps in four sets, and Fite tallied 36 digs and 2 service aces on the night as well as an all-tournament team selection. This girl’s senior year will be one to watch!
