It’s always special to see a senior come out and seize the moment. Nothing is better than ending a high school career with a bang. Here is a closer look at some of these players.
Bella exploded on the scene for Tumwater this season, and has committed to Alaska Anchorage for next year. The 2A EvCo All-League selection and MVP dominated play at the net, her powerful swing was difficult for opponents to handle.
A player that improved all four years with Peninsula, Sneva spent her senior season racking up kills with little sister Ziah. As an attacker she is extremely skilled and versatile, with great length to swing from any position across the net.
Highlights
The big hammer from the North side of Spokane, Moeller led the Mead Panthers back to state and a second-place finish this year. Every year the responsibilities for Moeller grew larger on the court, and she was able to excel in a leadership role for a young team. She puts up a great block and could easily play either pin position for Western Washington.
A smart and skilled setter who makes her teammates better, Worden ends her high school career with a championship trophy. The leader of the Rapids on the court, she makes great choices for her hitters and locates the ball beautifully.
Nealon is an impressive athlete for Richland on the pin, with the ability to defend and attack out of the back row. Montana State Billings will appreciate her fire on the court, as well as her skills. She captured first-team MCC honors this season and second-team as a junior and sophomore.
Hines has been steadily growing as a player and just steadily growing. At 6’1, she is an imposing blocker for Ephrata, and her hitting percentage was .372 for the year. She helped lead the Tigers to state out of a conference usually dominated by Ellensburg, and capped the year with a first-team all-league selection.
Webb will bring her power game to Central next season, and West Valley Yakima wont quite be the same without a Webb pounding down kills. Sisters Bridgette and Parker both played for the Rams, its been 12 straight years with at least one on the court. Parker was all-league all four of her high school seasons, leaving her own legacy.
Lake Stevens had no lack of great players this year, Tri was a dynamic middle who made big plays when the team needed it. She has quick feet and doesn’t waste any motion getting into a good position for her setter. With her commitment to being available, she opens up opportunities for her teammates to go one on one against the block.
The Mt. Si senior is an explosive, confident player with excellent length at the pin. Her blocking is standout, with great timing and strong hands when attacker try to tool. She was the main attacking option for a young team with a new coach this season, she was still impressive and fun to watch play.
The Northwest League MVP has an explosive arm, and she is willing to take on blockers. Sedro-Wooley will miss her as she takes her game to Cal Baptist next season. She is able to maximize her approach, it’s fast and technically sound. Some of her best work attacking is done form the right side.

Peterson is an exciting high flyer, undersized, and highly productive. She ends as a State Champion with the Eagles, taking home first-team all-league honors. Her passion was unmatched on the court, an extension of the Graham Kapowsin coach. Defensively she plays much like a high level libero, GK was extremely difficult to score on with anything off-speed.
When a libero has the elbow pads on, you can count on a tough, scrappy defender. That describes Sugamura to a tee, and she will continue next year at Franklin and Marshall. She hangs in against the hardest swings and has a very accurate bump set on the second ball. She moves it to both pins and will set the pipe.
