For others, they’re not getting the training they thought they signed up for in club last spring. Here are four stock risers in the class of ’25 that avoided all of that nonsense and proved themselves to be ready to be seen more.
Raegan Durbin Raegan Durbin 5'10" | OH Western Boone | 2025 State #89 Nation IN , 5-9 OH, Western Boone, Circle City
Talk about proving themselves. About this time last year, I watched Raegan completely control the court and any team she played on at our Top 250 Expo. Little did I know that, one year later, she’s added so much to not only her game but her mantle as well. While with Boiler Juniors, she was the primary attacker and engine to their success. In her freshman season (’21), she helped propel Western Boone to their first state title match appearance. This past fall, all she did was earn First Team All-State honors. She’s a spitfire of a primary-passing outside who has no quit, a bunch of energy and high level volleyball acuity that cannot be taught.
Lindsey Mangelson Lindsey Mangelson 6'2" | OH Hamilton Southeastern | 2025 State IN , 6-1 OH, Hamilton Southeastern, Munciana Indy
From relative obscurity to the O2 on a state championship team—that’s the definition of “stock riser”. Lindsey is currently a three-rotation hammer from the left, cut from the same cloth as Kendall Meller, a class of ’22 outside from Brownsburg currently on Colorado’s roster. She hits high and hard, has disciplined blocking technique, and even had more kills than Florida commit Lauren Harden Lauren Harden 6'3" | OH Hamilton Southeastern | 2024 State #36 Nation IN in that same title match.
Brynn Berndt Brynn Berndt 5'10" | MB Culver Community | 2025 State IN , 5-10 OH, Culver Community, Academy
Speaking of relative obscurity, I didn’t even know there was a Culver Community (I’m familiar with Culver Academies, but not the public school). Brynn has spent the last year or so of her high school and club seasons as a serviceable M2, excelling at attacking in front of the setter. She’s explosive, strong, and shows a solid work ethic which will push her out to the pin for this coming club season. She’s also quite disciplined; her commute to club practice is two hours one way.
Claire Sabo Claire Sabo 5'11" | MB Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory | 2025 State IN , 5-11 MB, Brebeuf, Rev
Seeing time as a middle on Brebeuf’s state championship team (’21), Claire is a gym rat through and through. She’s trained a ton as an M2, but could be an M1 at the next level, depending on her development off of one foot. She takes up space on the block and has a relentless motor. Her (somewhat) young career has brought her as far as France—while on a school trip back in ’18, she spent time practicing with a club team in Paris. If that’s not dedication, I’m not sure what is.
