2025 Rankings: Six Added Middles

She had a great high school season for Summit Country Day and returns to OPVC to play alongside some other really good 2025 prospects. She has quickness in her footwork and elevation, she gets up well, and is developing her range to be more versatile in her offensive arsenal. Keep an eye on her and the progress she is certain to make over the next several months.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='289187' first='Ava' last='Budrys Rini'] </strong><br>Lake Catholic won the DIII state title this past fall and Rini was a key element to their consistently big offensive output as a team. She averaged 2.1 kills per set while also a team leader defensively at 1.8 blocks per match. She has good arm work in the air as she creates good torque action that can generate some quality pace upon contact. She has improved her ability to score through a variety of options including good footwork and momentum build off one foot overhead of the setter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='289178' first='Anna' last='Ritter']</strong><br>At 5'9, Ritter is an undersized middle by most standards or coach preferences. However, she has good tools and makes a big impact on both sides of the ball. Hitting through a .383 efficiency over the high school season, she averaged 3.5 kills per set for Marietta. Through two season of varsity action, she has a career average of 2.1 blocks per match. As most of her offensive opportunities were through a higher tempo option this fall, she has good patience to be able to get her feet to the ball on time to take a big rip on the ball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='289176' first='Parker' last='Vackert']</strong><br>Vackert led the Carey offense in 2022 as she terminated a team high 354 kills. In averaging 3.8 kills per set, she was highly effective and efficient as she terminated 51% of her attempts with a .411 efficiency. At 5'11, she uses her physical tools well to contribute in a variety of ways whether with her arm, defending on the net at the pin or in the middle, or from the service line. She competes for Black Swamp 17-1.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='289181' first='Addyson' last='Butts']</strong><br>A District 14 1st-Team selection from Miami Trace, Butts helped lead her team to a Frontier Athletic Conference title in 2022. At 6'0, she provides a solid presence in the middle phase of the game for her team. With good momentum she has the ability to get off the floor quickly with a high elbow to attack aggressively through quick tempo options around the setter. She had nearly 300 kills this recent fall with an average of 4.1 kills per set while hitting a terrific .516 efficiency.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='246112' first='Ruth' last='Anderson']</strong><br>Anderson achieved nearly 200 kills over the high school season as she averaged 2.4 k/s while hitting at a .360 efficiency. The Newark product saw opportunities at the pins and in the middle where she displayed good versatility in her timing and effectiveness through different offensive options. She also made a big impact defensively averaging 3.3 blocks per match.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
