Class of 2023 1st Team All-State Selections – Middles

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are proud to announce our Prep Dig All-State Teams.&nbsp; Our All-State players are considered to have played the best at their respective position THIS YEAR.&nbsp; Some of the athletes listed may have played multiple positions on the court, but we have chosen them for the positions that we think they excelled at the most.&nbsp; We watched tons of matches this year and covered a lot of athletes in order to determine who was the best of the best.&nbsp; All of the wonderful players made it very difficult to decide both nominees and who eventually won due to their performances.&nbsp; Please help us congratulate these winners of our prestigious All-State Awards.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>1^st Team All State Selection:&nbsp; Middle</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Makayla Fuller&nbsp;[2023] 6-1 Middle (HS: Excelsior Charter/Club: Rancho Valley/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Makayla is currently an unranked prospect in the Prep Dig California State Rankings for the class of 2023.&nbsp; She plays at Excelsior Charter High School and club for Rancho Valley.&nbsp; We profiled her earlier when she was nominated and here is a refresher on what we stated, <em>“She has been a monster at the net as she has tallied 127 total blocks.&nbsp; This season she currently has 181 kills on a massive .229 hitting percentage.&nbsp; This kind of both offensive and defensive production shows just how good she is for her varsity squad.&nbsp; She is a big reason they are 22-5-1 overall and 9-1 in their conference.”&nbsp; </em>She did a lot more for her team than just attack and block.&nbsp; She also had 34 digs and 77 aces which helped her team stay super competitive in conference.&nbsp; Her overall level of work cannot be dismissed as she showed why she was one of the best middles in her class this year.&nbsp; We are very proud to announce that she has earned 1^st Team All-State from our publication.&nbsp; Please help us congratulate her on the honor.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>1^st Team All State Selection:&nbsp; Middle</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='159535' first='Liv' last='Hertzog']&nbsp;[2023] 6-0 Middle (HS: Mater Dei/Club: Mizuno Long Beach/Verbal:&nbsp; Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Liv is currently ranked as the 46^th best overall prospect in the Prep Dig California State Rankings for the class of 2023.&nbsp; She plays at Mater Dei High School and club for famed Mizuno Long Beach club program.&nbsp; We profiled her a few months ago when she was nominated for the award and here is a little from the article, <em>“She has tallied 185 kills on an amazingly efficient .432 hitting percentage.&nbsp; Her defensive play has been stellar with 125 total blocks at the net.&nbsp; She has led her team to an overall record of 29-8 and also 7-1 in conference play.&nbsp; I love how she rises up off of the ground so rapidly.&nbsp; It makes it very difficult for opposing blockers to time her.&nbsp; She runs a slide like a beast and no one can stop her, which is why she is so efficient.”</em>&nbsp; We I love just how fast she is laterally from pin to pin while patrolling the net.&nbsp; She was a show stopper in more ways than one for her high school squad.&nbsp; That kind of speed is a testament to the years of hard work that Miss Hertzog has put in to her craft.&nbsp; Because of her scoring and blocking production, we have chosen her to receive 1^st Team All-State from our publication.&nbsp; Please help us congratulate her on the special achievement that she has earned during her senior season.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As always stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes.&nbsp; If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at <a href="mailto:nov8vb@yahoo.com">nov8vb@yahoo.com</a>.&nbsp; Also don't forget to help these kids get more exposure by sharing our stories with your friends.&nbsp; Help us help them by simply retweeting on Twitter or sharing on Facebook.&nbsp; Thanks for following us, Prep Dig California Family!&nbsp; Don't be afraid to interact with us.&nbsp; We love the likes, shares, and quotes/comments.&nbsp; Keep them coming!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
