Some of the athletes listed may have played multiple positions on the court, but we have chosen them for the positions that we think they excelled at the most. We watched tons of matches this year and covered a lot of athletes in order to determine who was the best of the best. All of the wonderful players made it very difficult to decide both nominees and who eventually won due to their performances. Please help us congratulate these winners of our prestigious All-State Awards.
1st Team All State Selection: Setter
Zoe Rachow Zoe Rachow 5'11" | S Otay Ranch | 2023 State #141 Nation CA [2023] 5-10 Setter (HS: Otay Ranch/Club: Coast/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Zoe is currently ranked as the 4th best overall prospect and best setter in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Otay Ranch High School and for Coast Volleyball. We have profiled her a few times in 2022 and here is a little from the latest article, “I took a long hard look at all of the setters in this class and Zoe kept making her way to the top of the list in almost every category. She is extremely fundamentally sound and very powerful to push the ball with ease to any location from anywhere on the court. She has sniper abilities with the ball and is pinpoint accurate. This year she has tallied 1,027 assists, 259 digs, 41 total blocks, 78 aces and 122 kills.” There is nothing that this young lady cannot do on a volleyball court. It was very apparent during her senior season in which she led her team to many victories. Her production spoke volumes as we were deciding the award. We are proud to announce that she has earned 1st Team All-State from our publication. Please help us congratulate her on the honor.
1st Team All State Selection: Setter
Kyra Miller [2023] 5-11 Setter (HS: Clovis North/Club: Valley Volleyball Academy/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Kyra is currently an unranked prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings, but is on our watch list after what we witnessed during the high school season. She stars as a setter for Clovis North High School and plays club for Valley Volleyball Academy. We profiled her a few months ago when we started the nominations and here is a refreshers of what we stated, “Currently she has the second most assists amongst all seniors in the entire state. She has amassed 1,068 assists, 203 digs, 52 total blocks and also added 42 aces and 72 kills on the year. This kind of production is exactly why she is listed as a nominee. We love what she does on the court with her long length as a setter. She utilizes her long arms to push the ball to the pins with ease. I also love her hand contact that she uses in her jump float serve to stifle the opposing serve receivers.” We were very pleased with her overall level of production for Clovis North this year. After careful consideration in regards to statistics, we are proud to announce that Miss Miller is named to our 1st Team All-State. She has proven herself on the court this year and deserves this award. Please help us congratulate her on the achievement.
