There were plenty of “Wow” moments at the Prep Dig Resolution this past weekends. For many of these teams it was their first chance to take the court in a two day competitive tournament. And they showed out! Here are the game-changing performances that showcased the Prep Dig Resolution.

MIlwaukee Sting 16 Gold

There is plenty of promise for their team, but there is also a lot of expectation where this squad is eyeing a podium finish in 16 Open come July at USAV Nationals in Chicago. [player_tooltip player_id='178033' first='Madison' last='Quest'] and [player_tooltip player_id='178034' first='Gabriella' last='Pitcel'] are the veterans, they've played at this level before and reunite with plenty of members of their 14 Gold year in 2021 where they were in the final four of 14 Open. There is also a new addition from the Class of 2026 in [player_tooltip player_id='277420' first='Allie' last='Beers'] who is making her presence known out of the middle. Beers is strong, physical, and can score off a variety of tempos from setters [player_tooltip player_id='178032' first='Billie' last='Reiter'] and [player_tooltip player_id='178043' first='Madison' last='Marx']. Another adjustment to this team is [player_tooltip player_id='178026' first='Olivia' last='Durst'] as Libero. She's is one of the top all around players in the Class of 2025 where she can swing as well. However, this weekend she was taking plenty of pace off some hard driven swings

Van Lannen to Nilson and Neumann

Watching FC Elite 17 Navy take on Sting 17 Gold was day three qualifier level type of volleyball. Huge swings, great defense, and a double digit number of future D1 type of athletes on the court. A connection that was working really well was FC Elite 17 Navy setter [player_tooltip player_id='122566' first='Emerson' last='Van Lannen'] and middles [player_tooltip player_id='122527' first='Emma' last='Nilson'] (Middle Tennessee State) and [player_tooltip player_id='122526' first='Olivia' last='Neumann'] (Green Bay). Nilson was able to work real quickly in transition to be available where she can take the ball left or right. She has such power behind her swing, but is also really dynamic with what she can do offensively. Neumann was on the 16 White team last year and improves each time she gets on the court. She's long and strong, contacting high where it just looks different for the other side of the net. This is extremely promising for this team with these types of connections happening in January.

Dual Sport Dominator

I remember watching [player_tooltip player_id='178378' first='Alicia' last='Burgos'] last year at this event and she was a standout. She's probably 6'1, was a huge force as a middle for I AM VBC. She was back again this weekend and was one of the top performers. I usually don't ask kids about their future plans, but my curiosity got the best of me. When I asked if she was committed, she said no, but was leaning towards playing college basketball. She is one of the top scorers and rebounders for top ranked in D3 Dominican. Seeing her HUDL video for basketball, I could see where she is a strong next level prospect with how she could finish in the paint and even knocked down some threes.

The [player_tooltip player_id='178231' first='Campbell' last='Onell'] Slide

I've seen this play plenty of times the past two years at the high school and club level. 2025 middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='178231' first='Campbell' last='Onell'] is one of the toughest to defend when she has a chance to attack off one foot. She is so explosive with a fast, powerful arm swing that is tough to defend. She works extremely well with setters [player_tooltip player_id='178226' first='Madison' last='Tripp'] and [player_tooltip player_id='178227' first='Alexa' last='Hernandez'].

[player_tooltip player_id='277423' first='Ella' last='Kohnen'] - MKE Sting 15 Gold

This is a really scrappy Sting 15 Gold team who were the runner up finishers in 16 Open. One athlete who gets things going for this team is [player_tooltip player_id='277423' first='Ella' last='Kohnen']. She ran a 5-1 this past weekend. She was a force at the net, found favorable matchups for her attackers and was scoring points from the service line as well.

Macy Kline - Hometown Heat 15-1

Hometown Heat comes from the Holmen/La Crosse area and brought one of the top liberos across all 2026s. Macy Kline was outstanding. Even watching for a few points she standouts on the court with her command and presence of the backrow. She has a controlled platform but also can get out of her comfort zone to pop a ball up to keep it alive. She kickstarts this squad who plays really clean volleyball with strong ball control and a high IQ.

[player_tooltip player_id='247272' first='Sari' last='Marks'] - Sting United 15 Red

[player_tooltip player_id='249623' first='Addie' last='Oeth'] - Sting United 15 Red

What a duo. They both set and played right side this past weekend and have a huge all around skill set. Marks preps at Sun Prairie West and Oeth goes to Edgewood. Marks has elite athleticism where she can explode on her approach to score a lot of points. Oeth brings a lot of consistency to the court and has such a calming presence among her team. These two and this team will be one to watch this season.

Sting 15s

This age group for Sting had quite a weekend with 15 Gold finishing second in 16 Open, 15 Black and 16 White winning 16 Club and 15 Open, and Sting 15 Silver was runner up in 15 Club. A lot of promise in the Class of 2026 from this group. I was able to watch the entire match of Sting 15 Black close out the night with their 16 Club championship win over FC Elite 16 Blue. They had such balance on this team starting with [player_tooltip player_id='277426' first='Kaylee' last='Harder'] who was so good from setting to attacking on the right side. [player_tooltip player_id='209368' first='Mia' last='Jannazzo'] was electric from the outside as well where she has such a smooth swing, finding the open spot. The defender who commands it all for Sting 15 Black is [player_tooltip player_id='249624' first='Addison' last='Bruns'], one of three Bruns sisters playing in the event. She anticipates, has really efficient feet and a controlled platform to be rock solid from serve receive to taking the first ball whenever she can.

[player_tooltip player_id='122463' first='Malayna' last='Dins'] - Impact 17 National

Dins is such an exciting player where she was pivotal in the Impact 17 National comeback win in the gold crossovers over Elite Alliance. They were down multiple match points in set three when Dins went off for Impact. Her match winning kill sums up her style of play where shes not afraid to swing big. She knows how to split the block and is crafty when it comes to scoring points. Absolutely electric.
