Powerhouse Teams to Watch at the PD Resolution – 17/18 Open

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 17/18 Division of the Prep Dig Resolution is massive. Twenty-four of the best teams in the state will convene in Appleton and play head-to-head over two days. Some of the biggest commits and recruits in the state will be competing; it is a tournament you won't want to miss. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>Sting 17 Gold</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This team is massive, both in size and talent. Six players are listed as 6 feet and taller on their roster. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='122479' first='Emily' last='Bruss'] is quick and gritty on the court. She puts in 100% effort every moment of every play, and it pays off. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='122523' first='Claire' last='Luoma'] is confident and has a high-level volleyball IQ. [player_tooltip player_id='122569' first='Sophia' last='Wendlick'] is an explosive pin hitter who can play all six rotations and hit on either pin. This past season, she was a key player in DSHA's State Championship title. [player_tooltip player_id='122516' first='Olivia' last='Kwiatkowski'] and [player_tooltip player_id='122475' first='Anna' last='Bjork'] were across the net in that match and were go-to hitters in the 5-set thriller. They have a 2021 state championship title of their own! [player_tooltip player_id='122499' first='Melia' last='Johnson'] is an explosive pin who goes big on swings and can pound balls at any angle on the court. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>FC Elite 17 Navy</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This FC Elite team won a national championship last year in the 16 National division of USAV Nationals. Outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='122532' first='Annalise' last='Patchett'] and setter [player_tooltip player_id='122566' first='Emerson' last='Van Lannen'] both made All-Tournament Team and will be hungry for success this season. Middle hitters [player_tooltip player_id='122527' first='Emma' last='Nilson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='122526' first='Olivia' last='Neumann'] are powerful and explosive. They put up a massive block and make opposing hitters work for their points. [player_tooltip player_id='122497' first='Olivia' last='Baierl'] and [player_tooltip player_id='122508' first='Elle' last='Kennedy'] are incredibly talented defenders. This team is well-rounded and highly competitive on the national stage. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>Impact 17 National </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Impact has a solid program, and their 17 National team has a lot of talent and potential. Pin hitter and UW-Oshkosh commit [player_tooltip player_id='122463' first='Malayna' last='Dins'] is smart and savvy and can play all six rotations. Fellow pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='249675' first='Maleigha' last='Kovalaske'] has a lethal line shot and is a highly efficient hitter. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='122561' first='Maddox' last='Stille'] is gritty and energetic on the court. She is aggressive on defense and works never to let a ball hit the floor. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>Sting 16 Gold</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Not only does this team have some of the top athletes in the state, but they also have some of the top athletes in the country. She regularly trains with the USAV National Team Development Program and was a leader on DSHA's state championship team. Her high school teammate [player_tooltip player_id='178026' first='Olivia' last='Durst'] was also a huge impact player for the Dashers. [player_tooltip player_id='178030' first='Karli' last='Molnau'] and [player_tooltip player_id='178034' first='Gabriella' last='Pitcel'] are both explosive and impactful middles. Fellow middle, [player_tooltip player_id='277420' first='Allie' last='Beers'], is in the class of 2026 and playing up an age division this season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>Wisconsin Ice 17 National</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This Ice team has the potential to be very gritty and impactful. She manufactures points and is scrappy in her play. Pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='122559' first='Courtney' last='Sommer'] is efficient and can play in all six rotations. She is very athletic and a dynamic player who adjusts well during games. [player_tooltip player_id='122517' first='Ava' last='Krueger'] is another high-level pin hitter on this team.
