Already making a big splash on the club scene, these prospects followed it up with a big 2022 prep season.
Now, with our latest 2025 Player Rankings update, let’s get a closer look at who makes up the top 10.
1. Campbell Flynn Campbell Flynn 6'2" | S Mercy | 2025 State #4 Nation MI , S Mercy/Legacy
Already a national champion in club volleyball, Flynn is a dynamic setter that also has proven to be an elite hitter as well. She’s coming off a 2022 prep season where she tallied 344 kills while hitting .348. She also added 666 assists and 105 aces. The 6’2” Flynn has also the tools to be one of the best players in the country.
2. Navea Gauthier Navea Gauthier 6'1" | OH Shelby | 2025 State #56 Nation MI , OH Shelby/FaR Out
Gauthier nearly tallied 1,000 kills this prep season for Shelby, proving she could be one of the best pure hitters to come through the state in a long time. She added 513 digs and 136 aces during the season as well. With close to 1,600 kills in two prep seasons, Gauthier is within reach to challenge the MHSAA all-time kills record of Alisha Glass (3,584).
3. Isabelle Busignani Isabelle Busignani 6'1" | OH Marian | 2025 State #73 Nation MI , OH Marian/Michigan Elite
Busignani made a big statement this fall, helping Marian win a third consecutive D1 championship while being the leading hitter on the squad. The 6’1” sophomore had 531 kills while hitting .303. She also added 331 digs, 40 aces and 33 blocks.
4. McKenna Payne McKenna Payne 5'7" | DS/L SMCC | 2025 State #105 Nation MI , DS/L SMCC/Michigan Elite
Payne is the top defender in this class, but has shown an all-around ability on the floor when SMCC has needed someone to step up. Payne has the athleticism and quickness to be special. She also already has the composure and focus that few have at the libero position.
5. Ella Craggs Ella Craggs 5'9" | S Northville | 2025 State #127 Nation MI , S Northville/Michigan Elite
Craggs made a move to Northville and it led to her guiding the Mustangs to the Division 1 final in 2022. Another multi-talented player that shines brightest as a setter, Craggs has over 1,100 assists this past fall. She also put up over 280 digs, 75 kills and 50 aces.
6. Olivia Grenadier Olivia Grenadier 6'1" | MB Country Day | 2025 State #91 Nation MI , MB Country Day/Legacy
Grenadier had a breakthrough club season last fall while helping Legacy earn a national championship. She carried that into the fall for DCD where she emerged as the next great middle prospect to come out of that program. She had 367 kills in 2022 while hitting .460. She also had 57 blocks with 230 digs.
7. Victoria Gray Victoria Gray 6'2" | MB Bedford | 2025 State #100 Nation MI , MB Bedford/Michigan Elite
Another 6’2” middle with a high ceiling in this class, Gray put the state on notice this past prep season. Embracing a bigger role for the Kicking Mules, Gray recorded 319 kills from the middle while hitting an eye-popping .500 on the season. If her hitting wasn’t strong enough, she recorded 172 blocks, while adding 179 digs and 61 aces. Gray was a dominant force on both offense and defense.
8. Layla Visser Layla Visser 5'11" | OH Rockford | 2025 State MI , OH Rockford/MVA
Visser took on a bigger role for a strong Rockford program this past fall and showed a lot of growth from her freshman year. The 6-foot outside racked up 283 kills and 67 blocks, as well as 116 digs. Visser showed improvement in all areas of the game, especially with her blocking and defensive play.
9. Jessica Costlow Jessica Costlow 5'11" | OH SMCC | 2025 State #142 Nation MI , OH SMCC/Michigan Elite
Costlow hasn’t had the size of some of the other hitters in this class, but she still brings a lot of power to the net, and has a relentless effort on the floor. She can finish from the outside or the middle, while also having a great defensive skillset and a powerful serve.
10. Marie Laurio Marie Laurio 5'10" | OH Saline | 2025 State #147 Nation MI , OH Saline/Legacy
Laurio managed to put up an MVP-caliber season for Saline while leading the Hornets to the Division 1 semifinals. She had 471 kills, 373 digs and 53 aces for Saline. A 5’10” six-rotation outside, Laurio proved she can compete with the top outsides in the state in any class this past fall.
